King's Speech lead actor Colin Firth was almost a part of the Hellfire club! When speaking with Total Film, X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) says Firth was one of the few he wanted to play X-Men villain Sebastian Shaw. As you likely know, Kevin Bacon took the role of Shaw. The director explains why he thought the two were great options. James McAvoy (Wanted), playing as a younger version of Professor Xavier, says Bacon is one the movie's "greatest assets" and claims he has a "Bond Villian" aspect, but isn't "campy" about it. What do you think, Ledgers? Do you think one of the biggest stars in film this year would have been a good choice for Shaw, or are you happy Kevin Bacon has the role?

As a history guy, did you feel the movie did justice to the historic figures it portrayed? About as well as you can expect from such a movie is the best way I'd describe it. They obviously took some liberties and made assertions but it was to the benefit of what they wanted to do, which was a positive product.
