You walk into the Crazies knowing exactly what's going to happen. Almost immediately, you know who will die, who will live, and what kind of brutal situations you'll see in each scenario. But does that take away from this film? Not one bit.
The Crazies brings absolutely nothing new to the table, but it does it well and in an extremely entertaining fashion. It's been two months or so since I've seen the film, but in the end I remember having no real stand-out complaints. The acting was good, the pace was good, there was scattered humor, and the movie had some well-done suspensful moments without being cliche or flat-out lame. As expected with any run-of-the-mill "kill everyone or be killed" scenario movie, there's a fair amount of blood splattered on the screen. But if you walk into this movie NOT expecting gore, you've clearly seen trailers for a different movie. The Crazies tries to throw in a "twist" in the very end, but it's just sort of silly and been done too many times before.
If you're even remotely interested in seeing this film, do yourself a favor and just check it out. It's worth a viewing, but a purchase? No.

I was rolling my eyes of them driving away as the town is nuked. "Enjoy your hidious mutant baby and the likely hood of not living past your 50's." You can't get exposed to that much radiation and expect a happy ending post credits. Not the first film that makes like a nuclear detonation right behind the cast. Anyways nice review.
