Mister X first appeared in Wolverine #159 by Frank Tieri. His telepathic abilities first manifested themselves when he saw a woman die in the street. He discovered a strange addiction to being in her mind at the time of her death. Dedicating himself to becoming the world's greatest H2H fighter, he uses his unique telepathic abilities to read his opponents moves, combined with mastering all of the world's fighting styles to achieve this goal. Discuss Mister X here! Also, check out Matezoide's fine job for Mister X's feats here: thecomicsledger.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=respect&action=display&thread=1111&page=1

This guy really grew into his own. He was just a throw away villain for Wolverine but I do not even consider him a Wolverine villain anymore.

Mr X is badass, but I do wish writers would stop using him as the new Taskmaster to make others look better. Now, while his status hasn't diminished.

I regard him as a Wolverine villain that really outgrew his function, but in all honesty, his sheer obsession with Wolverine makes me still think of him primarily as an opponent for Logan. He's just on tour for while.

When they do meet again I hope it's not in anything written by Jason Aaron. In Frank Tieri I trust.

@ Erik - Have you read the Wolverine/Mr X one-shot? Mr X had a whole room of opponents dressed up as Wolverine just so he could kill them as practice, lol.
Then he added "some people would say I'm a little...obsessed". Yeah, no kidding. ;D

It was fun, but I hoped for a more satisfying conclusion. At least it tied-in well with Mr X's time with the T-bolts.

Yeah, I read the T-Bolts issue first when in chronology it takes place after the one shot. Hopefully, he and Logan meet again very soon.

It's a cool read for a simple one-shot. Mr X basically forces Wolverine to fight him by abducting children/threatening to kill people.

Morph-was the Mr X one-shot his first appearance since Tieri's early 2000 run on Wolverine?

Chronologically, Diggle's T-bolts were his first appearance post 2001, but in-universe, the one-shot should be the first.
