Based on but not a copy of Erik's Thread.
I, being the charismatic Man of Valor and Conquest that I am have amassed an army and steam-rolled the Armies of the European Union, turning all of Europe into "The Imperial Protectorate of Lunastan" of which I am the sole Authoritarian Leader. I rule my country with an Iron Fist, my will is written into law.
Bring forth your issues and topics and I shall tell you how things are run in Lunastan!

Thoughts on nuclear power?

Nuclear power is a difficult one. It can be dangerous and produces harmful waste that needs to be specially dealt with. However it also provides a great deal of energy and is significantly cleaner than say fossil fuels. In my opinion existing Nuclear Power Plants will be allowed to remain, although they will have to undergo rigorous inspections and upgrades to maintain their safety and efficiency. Just look at what the Earthquake in Japan did. This is dangerous stuff, and it needs to be treated in a cautious manner. That said I don't think we are ready yet to ween off it completely, especially in regions where other energy sources such as hydro and geothermal are not readily available. I however will put a ban on creating more Nuclear Power Plants.
Further research and developement will be put into harnassing and utilizing other methods of energy production, while I will regulate weekly energy use quotas to cut back on the amount of energy being used.

Torture is not a reliable way to gather intel in my opinion. Sometimes it may work, other times it can lead to misleading information. You really have to ask yourself is it worth bringing ourselves down to their level for a small chance of gaining information that could be gathered in other manners.

In all seriousness, I agree with you. Torture is a unreliable method to extract information. Even if the victim is not trying to be uncooperative, they may just end up telling you what you want to hear to prevent more pain. That is how the Mexican Police get people to confess to crimes they did not commit all the time.

I know literally nothing about how we would go about doing that. To my knowledge though CFC's are the culprit. Extensively regulating their use would be a start.
While I'm thinking I would also like to address the issue of Crime and Punishment. I don't believe in prisons per se, at least not in the sense of a modern penitentiary. Instead I propose that all criminals tried in front of a jury of their peers and found guilty will be tattooed on their foreheads and banished from all territories under my control under pain of death. Their tattoos will identify them easily as criminals. If police find criminals within our borders they are commanded to use lethal force. The tattoos will be a non-removable variety.

Prostitution will be illegal. It spreads dangerous disease, detracts from the public health, and ruins public image. Any and all punishments will be harsh. If they perform a crime unwarranted of banishment in scope other options like Caning and various similar corporal punishments will be put into use. Prostitution seems like a caning crime. However those with a record of more than one arrest prior will be fitting of banishment.
I'm also throwing around the idea of chemically burning their sex organs if they are caught as prostitutes.

Think about it. Who's gonna want to be a prostitute if you know the penalty is chemical burn on your vag? Besides it kills two birds with one stone because their vag is ruined forever, they'll never be able to have sex again so no prostitution.

That seems a bit... harsh. Crimes are considered crimes for a reason. They are things that we don't want citizens to do. If the punishment isn't severe enough to discourage the act it isn't severe enough period. Prison is not a suitable punishment. Some people in prison have it better than low income families in America. If you knew the punishment was going to be a chemical burned vagina how likely would you be to prostitute yourself out? I don't believe there is a such thing too severe of a punishment. If the people know what the punishment is and they choose to do the act anyways they deserve whatever the punishment is with no mercy.
