I think all the X-Men Colossals are either overpowered (Apocalypse) or just characters I don't care about. They do all look pretty cool but at the end of the day, they're just pieces to a board game to me. The character and the dial are what I care about more than how cool they look. For me, that's just bonus.

Next time I play someone, I'm going to use a Bat-Villains team (Riddler, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Bane )

I'm seeing two major complaints, here. 1) Characters are limited to one kind of attack. 2) There aren't enough RPG elements The first problem is kinda solved by modern heroclix. With the addition of special powers, figures are much more unique and characters with odd powers are better represented while characters like Wolverine and Batman are not necessarily limited to Leap/Climb or Charge or Stealth but are given all three at once. It's never going to be as in depth as a first person video game or a pen and paper RPG when it comes to number of available options, though. It's a squad based game, after all. As for the RPG elements, I think that can be more easily fixed. I know this guy who essentially publishes his own stories each month and then a group of people play heroclix with them. So one month, the Justice League is fighting the Injustice League and the Titans are taking on Deathstroke, while the Green Lantern Corps battle the spider guild. As the characters gain experience (for koing enemies, defending their allies, etc), they can use those points to recruit new teammates or upgrade their dials to more expensive ones. The Titans started with this Nightwing. If that kind of thing appeals to you, I can send you a link. Thanks for the info zoom but I was aware of most of it I know characters can be fairly unique but as you surmised it still is not as descriptive as an RPG. I also don,t think that within the limited confines of the heroclix rules youncan fully describe some characters and some characters seem to be off in their power levels. As for playing a scenario, yes you can get some character interaction as you say but it's still a strategy game, in some ways like glorified chess.....I know that seems harsh but that's the way it seems. Send me the link anyhow....maybe it will grow on me.

I started collecting heroclix for their sculpts. It was only later that I started playing. Zoom do you have an HCrealms account? I'm not very active, but I can add you just for the fun of it. Or you can do it, I'm still vuviper. Oh just going to add that I love this figure:

creatorhcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=240598vuviperYeah but you gotta guess it for me to tell you who I am. I love that Batman sculpt but he's waaaaay overpowered. Charge + stealth + flurry for 3 damage with 10 attack and outwit or perplex? That's enough to nearly take down most mid level bricks in one action. Even Superman isn't moving and then dishing out 8 damage on his best clicks on his best versions. Batman can get 3 damage but not with flurry or perplex. That's too good for him imo. My favorite Batman just got retired.

Out of shadows Batman right? That was always a fun one. Speaking of fun Batman. I actually went to ComicCon specifically to pick up this guy:

Yeah. I've got Out of the Shadows, Grayson Bats, FCBD Batman (Earth 2?) and I used to have the the Hypertime E and Icons E but I think I've gotten rid of them by now. Out of the Shadows Batman outclasses them.

Seems Strafe isn't playing anymore and Lubre is well on his way to kicking my butt.
Anyone else up for a game?

I picked-up a brick of Captain America Heroclix yesterday, but I promised my son I wouldn't open them until he is back with me on Friday evening. I'll post what we end up with sometime this weekend.

Cool cool.
Pulled a chase The Captain (Captain America with Thor's hammer) the other day. Gonna trade him for a group of SRs I've been looking for.

Nice pull! How many boosters have you picked-up so far?
I'm hoping we pull the Cap in ice and the Cap throwing the shield, those are the two pieces I want the most. My son wants Red Skull.

I've picked up like four or five Cap boosters but that's really only because I got a new job and have some disposable income.
Really only looking for a handful of figures from the Cap set, namely Armadillo (because I hope all the Rangers will be clixed), Black Widow (Champions), Hardball/Diamondback (Initiative) and Squirrel Girl/Mr Immortal/Doorman (GLI).
Got Black Widow and Hardball but everything else I've pulled has just been trade fodder. I've got a couple SHIELD generics, Falcon, Viper, Sin, Crimson Dynamo, Mentallo, and Baron Zemo. I'll probably end up trading all of those away for the few pieces I'm looking for and maybe some X-Men/Superman pieces.

And I absolutely want a Captain America but I just think every single version of him has just been off since the first version of Ultimate Cap.
AW Cap was all about toughness and exploit weakness with garbage stats. Avengers Cap has super strength. HoT Cap starts out good but late dial, he's got no defense and yet, hits too hard. Bucky Cap has really high damage and I hate to see a piece with ranged expert and close expert. Makes Bucky seem ADD. Invaders Cap plays fetch with himself and is a double base for no reason. Ice Cap is just nonsensical because you don't haul Cap in a block of ice to battle.
He's a popular enough character that I feel I can afford to wait for someone to make him the right way.

hcrealms.com/index.php?page=unitsIf you search "Captain" then he's the third from the top, number 060 in the Captain America set. Basically, he starts the game in a block of ice and is freed from it on turn 5. It's a cute game mechanic and it looks kinda cool on the sculpt but at the end of the day, I want Captain America as an Avenger and Captain America doesn't charge into battle encased in a block of ice and the other Avengers don't start fighting while their leader sits there for a quarter of the battle.
