Stopped by the comic shop today to pick-up my comics and got hooked up with the SHIELD Helicarrier map from the Captain America set.

Just heard about the infinity Gauntlet event at the shop today. Also, found out that the next Heroclix set is going to be a 42 piece Hulk set that comes out in December. From the poster I saw, there were some cool characters that are going to be in it. Can't wait!

I'll be glad to have a new Daredevil (exploit weakness all over a guy who should have a power that is the opposite of exploit weakness just ruined the last one for me so I didn't bother trading for him), a new She-Hulk and a new Hulk and I'm sure we'll get some never before clixed Hulk villains but I'm really annoyed that we're wasting a slot on Matt Murdock. Like I'd ever want to play as him or Peter Parker or Clark Kent or anybody's secret identity unless their secret identity had a different power set like Jason Blood or Bruce Banner.
The AE mechanic is pretty much a waste of space (well, more a waste of money) and I was glad to not see it in the last 3 sets. Shame it's returning but it would at least be kinda cool on Banner.

From a collector's standpoint it's cool to have the Peter Parkers and Matt Murdocks, but I would never actually play that piece in a game. I'm sure we'll probably get a Bruce Banner in this set as well.

I wish I had people to play with around here.
I want to try Elsa, Hawkgirl, and the new Wonderwoman in a 300 point warrior theme team. They are all nice pieces individually, and they are each especially good at taking out particular opponents. I just don't like playing teams that lack range, but at least they all start with charge.

Arkham Wonder Woman is all I'll ever need.

Arkham Wonder Woman is all I'll ever need. Yeah, she is awesome, especially with stunning blow. but at the same time I'd be tempted to just pair her with a 50 point Amazon for Minion, Leadership, Defend even.

I've never bothered putting stunning blow on her. I've never even seen her knocked off that first click. I've heard tale of her having magic lasso clicks late dial but I wouldn't know.

Really? 18 imperv isn't that hard to crack, even if you used the perplex to lower someone's attack, That's pretty cool though. I just like that it gives her some ranged options. Like I said I don't normally like playing teams without range, and at 248, she is basically your team. I guess I could fit in a 48 point blackfire haha.

Yeah, 18 imperv isn't that tough to crack...unless she's smashed you for 7 cause I usually play her with out of the shadows Batman and a couple other Leaguers to hide behind. She hardly ever misses.
My venue almost always plays high point games. 400 is the lowest I've played but it's usually 500 or 600 so I've got some room to help her out.
Not like I'm winning every time I throw her on the board but my opponents seem to be more likely to just outwit her charge and try to break from her rather than stand and fight. Not that I blame them. High point totals means unless you're swimming in high damage values, you pick and choose the targets you can take down and the targets you're going to try to just minimalize.
It's a lot easier to deal with Batman, Green/Red Arrow, Aquaman and even Superman (since I'm packing the JL version) than it is to deal with Wonder Woman.

The Incredible Hulk set came out yesterday. I think we are going today to pick up a brick. Anybody else buying any boosters or a brick?

Picked up our Incredible Hulk brick this afternoon. Here's how we made out. Ended up only 1 short of the full CUR (missing Joe Fixit). Pulled 3 SR (Spider Man, Ka-Zar & Zabu, Cosmic Hulk) and 1 Chase (Hulkmariner). Only figure my son and I really wanted that we didn't get was Ghost Rider. We got a total of 11 duplicates, all commons or uncommons. Interesting notes regarding the individual boosters: one booster had 2 of the Punisher's in it right next to each other. Another booster had both of the Daredevil's in it right next to each other. A third booster had Ka-Zar and Shanna right next to each other.

I skipped my venue's sealed tournament today.
I'm just not really into this set. Too many AEs and characters I haven't heard of. The characters that I do know are all either bad for the points (Ghost Rider), way more powerful than they should be (Punisher) or way less powerful than they should be (Hulk).
I plan to buy She-Hulk, Herc, regular Daredevil and Ghost Rider on ebay or something.
I like the new Wolverine if only because he's only 70 points and starts with Toughness but I think I'll just hold off for the Fast Forces Wolverine and see how he is before I try to get a new one. The GSX Wolvie is fun but he's soooooo fragile.

Casual play at the shop last night, 300 pt. teams. I played an X-Men theme team of:
GSX Cyclops GSX Emma Frost WoS Nightcrawler
against
TIH Hercules TIH Amadeus Cho TIH Shanna TIH Ka-Zar & Zabu
It came down to Emma Frost and Ka-Zar & Zabu being the last two pieces on the map. Emma ended up coming out on top with 5 clicks left on her dial.

Is anybody playing in the Infinity Gauntlet Tournaments? I missed last month because of work but managed to pick up the Infinity Gauntlet through another means. The month 2 event is this coming Sunday and I'm looking forward to it. Format is 600 point team with at least 300 points coming from either the Hulk or Superman sets. In-Betweener LE is the prize figure (1st, 2nd, 3rd and Fellowship) and the Soul Gem is the participation prize.

All the gems have TL;DR style effects and I haven't read any stories with most of the IG characters.
I am looking forward to Galactic Guardians, though.
