I felt the same way. I had fully expected the movie to be over when Cap 'died', and that his 'waking up' would be in the clip they show after the movie. That might have actually been the original plan like all those other teasers appearing after the credits, but since Cap ended up last in line we instead got the Avengers trailer, which still has me pumped for a film not coming out for another year. *Stark lightly taps Thor's arm with the back of his hand* Stark: "Got a mean swing." *Thor looks on knowing this to be true.* Oh boy will the fanboy in me squeal at the thought of some Thor Mjolnir smashing with the Hulk or Iron Man, even if it's done with no reason outside to just have them duke it out on screen.

My favorite part of the trailer was seeing Hawkeye shoot an arrow. I'm thrilled that he's actually going to get a significant role in this film.

Well to be entire honest, the entire !@#$ing thing is my favorite part. Lack of Hulk, completely in part of him being CGI, was the only downer. But yeah how Hawkeye, Black Widow and Steve actively contribute should be interesting, with absolute power houses as Iron Man, Hulk and Thor I'd imagine there is going to be a lot of crazy going on at the same time, given a city is being trashed, Loki is actively firing some sort of energy and the cosmic cube is definitely going to play a role, it's going to be complete chaos.
Kudos for Joss taking this challenge.

I really enjoyed this movie. Thor is still pretty fresh in my mind and I'd weigh it up there with it. Just some random thoughts: 1. I thought the overall acting was better than Thor. 2. The Cap/Peggy dynamic was excellent and right up there with Tony Stark/Pepper Potts in the Iron Man films. 3. I wanted to see Cap himself FROZEN in ice and not just his shield. 4. The final fight with Cap & the Skull was very good. 5. Hayley Atwell's performance was much better than Natalie Portman's. 6. Tommy Lee Jones had some great one liners. 7. The sequence at the end was a little unexpected. I really wanted to see the Avengers find Cap in the opening of that movie. 8. The lady in the sequence at the end=Sharon Carter?9. Overall, it was extremely well done and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The lady at the end certainly looked like Sharon, but she was a different actress. I'm assuming she was her daughter or granddaughter or something, and Sharon herself is now either 90-something years old or dead. Sharon as in Peggy's daughter. But in movie canon its been nearly 70 years, maybe her grand daughter?

Saw and absolutely loved the movie. Everyone brings up good points in both the positive and negative categories, but for me I can take the few small negatives in stride. Captain America officially took the top spot in my all-time favorite comic books movies list away from Iron Man. I'll definitely be seeing it again. I also want to add that the movie did affect me on an emotional level several times, both with sadness and with pride. I saw the first showing on Friday morning and 2 or 3 times during the movie, and at the end, the audience broke in to applause. I can't tell you the last time that happened during a movie I was in.
Also, I was wondering too if that was Sharon in the final scene. I tend to think it was. I think they will have to make her Peggy's granddaughter because the gap of time between WWII and Steve waking up is dramatically different in the Movie Universe as opposed to the 616 Universe.

I saw it at the midnight showing and was not disappointed. Maybe my second favorite comic book movie to date.

I'll just copy/paste when I said briefly in another thread: I was totally let down. It's not a good thing when the highlights of the movie are the German scientist only in the first 30 min or so, and Tommy Lee Jone's minor role. Everything was just so medicore. Every single Marvel Studios film has raised my hairs at one point or made me go "That's...so...awesome." This didn't deliver that at all and at times I even just wanted it to end so I could see the Avengers trailer. I know it was going for a classic vibe since it was that era, but at times it was TOO campy/predictable and none of the action wow'd me at all (especially the lame montages. BOOM EXPLOSION, BOOM MOTORCYCLE, BOOM SHIELD!). I'd really give it a 6.5-7/10. A major letdown considering what I've come to expect from Marvel Studios. Then again, I was skeptical of the selection of Joe Johnson from the get go...lol Oh, and the "emotional" sequence in the end didn't move me at all, and I'm not a cold guy by any means. If you pay attention the first 5 minutes you know exactly how Cap concludes during the WW2 era. And since we're nerds, the final sequence was just obvious and at that point I was just thinking "GIVE MEH WHEDONZ AVENGERS NAO!" #1. I hate you. Get out of my country now you dirty commie bastard. #2. Everything else was mediocre? It had a better romance, better villain, and better story than Thor, Iron Man 2 or Hulk IMO. #3. I'm just playin' to each their own.

Red Skull was a better villain?
I AM ZE EVIL AND WANT TO CONQUER ZE VORLD! Loki was more interesting, imho. Only reason I likeld Skull more was his look.
I wasn't feeling the romance at all.

At the end of the day, my favorite part of Cap was the first 45 min or so. From there, my enjoyment took a faceplant. The movie would have really benefited from a better director.

Loki is the best villain marvelmovieverse has shown thus far, even with his faults. Looking at the other guys, it's not hard to call Red Skull better than some of them, even if he was pretty I'M EVIL! But he did it very well, from appearance, to actions, to personality, just giving that general insane vibe from the serum he took. Sorta playing as the shadow of the Captain America himself. Looks better than the rest of the line up though: Rourke - *in a heavy Russian accent* "I WANT MY BIRRRRD" "STARK I HATE YOU, FOR REALLY NO REASON, BUT I FOCUS MY AWFUL CHILDHOOD AS ALL YOUR FAULT AS YOU GOT EVERYTHING, AND DESPITE MY OWN INTELLIGENCE I'D RATHER THROW IT ALL AWAY TO FIGHT YOU / RUIN YOUR LIFE!!!" "SILLY AUTOMOBILES CANNOT GET THROUGH THESE ABBS OF STEEL." Stane - "MY SUIT IS SUPERIOR TO YOURS IN EVERY WAY!" "MINUS SPEED," "DURABILITY," "OVERALL DESTRUCTIVE POTENTIAL," "ABILITY TO FUNCTION IN COLD AREAS!" "YES SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE STARK!!!" Abomb - "I'M THE STRONGEST THERE IS!" "WOOO MINDLESS CITY DESTRUCTION!" "COME OUT AND FACE ME, I TURNED INTO A GIANT MONSTER JUST SO I CAN FIGHT YOU THIS TIME NOT SITTING THERE LIKE A MORON TO LET YOU BREAK EVER BONE IN MY BODY WITH A SINGLE PUNCH!!!" To be fair, it's not hard to beat Stane or Abomb.

This made me lol for real. Freakin exalted! Stane was having an ego explosion at the end, despite not having an idea what was inside Stark's suit. Literally his was built by a dozen or so top Stark scientists that couldn't replicate the power source Stark built in a cave and were working off one of his cave designs. Stark at the very start of building the new suit tossed that design out the window, then we had the actual fight and the only reason he had any challenge was the lack of power. At full power he would have walked through Stane. Either way HISHE did a good job with it too.

I wouldn't say my entire life, but it certainly hyped the hell out of me for the film. Especially the buddy buddy with Thor and Tony on screen! Tony: "Got a mean swing" - *Thor Knows!*
