Writer: Ed Brubaker Artist: Steve McNiven Steve Rogers is back in a new ongoing series that follows the events of the recent major motion picture very closely. In this issue, we get members of Hydra, Sharon Carter, Nick Fury and some flashbacks to events during WW2. We also see a former flame of Peggy Carter's who's out for revenge against Steve for undisclosed reasons. This issue goes back and forth between the present day where Cap & friends have attended Peggy Carter's funeral and WW2 where we see the groundwork laid for the antagonists in this issue. I'm not a Cap expert but I believe this issue slightly retcons some events that took place during WW2. Someone makes an assassination attempt on Dum Dum Dugan's life in Paris but luckily Cap saves him. In the end, Cap and friends investigate a now elderly man who played a part in the WW2 flashbacks. He's kidnapped by members of an organization that were prominently featured in the movie. We also see the antagonist in this issue align himself with one of Cap's oldest foes. Thoughts: This is a very good debut issue for the new series. It's definitely playing off the movie which isn't a bad thing. 8/10

I'm happy that both Captain America #1 and Daredevil #1 both got off to great starts.

Dropped Cap due to the Bucky bullshittery. That and it stopped being interesting recently with the prison story. No idea why. It just got kinda boring to me. I'll flip through this though and see if its worth ignoring the Bucky issue for it.... probably not.

Hate to bump an old thread to not bring any interesting discussion, but is that a Canadian Mountie with his Canadian Vibranium shield on that cover? Or is there some sort of mysterious Mountie hero in marvel saving the day?
