NO SPOILERS.
THE PLOT
Agent Venom has to deal with The Human Fly, and Flash Thompson has to deal with his father.
You'll be surprised who's more revolting.
THE GOOD
The book is split into two parts, one with Tony Moore's art, and one with Tom Fowler's art. Tony Moore's section deals with Agent Venom VS Human Fly, and like all of Tony Moore's other work on the title it's freaking brilliant, and of course Remender delivers another great fight for Venom. And for certain fanboys who think the setting is THAT CERTAIN CHURCH, no, it's not. That church had like, twenty bells in their belltower, guys. Sorry to burst your bubble.
The Fowler drawn section has, in my opinion, great art from Fowler. His facial expressions can be a little weird, and there's one out of place scene with a Wolverine imitation (in hindsight the character doing this is just being cute, so it's not that big of a deal - I just noted it because at first it irked me), but overall the art is good. The story is gripping and gives more depth to Flash, who is, SADLY, the most devoloped Venom host (Eddie got some, but it was bogged down by horrific storytelling, to get a lot of what makes Eddie, well, Eddie, you had to read between the lines and look at his actions rather than emotional storylines that tell you).
I've never wanted to punch a fictional father in the face, but this issue REALLY draws you into the characters. It's disturbing to realize that Flash's father is more disgusting than The Human Fly. Whether that was the intention of bringing Human Fly into the issue or not is up to you, but I like to think that's why, just so we get a look at how cruel Flash's dad is emotionally.
THE BAD
None. .... I know my username has "VENOM" in it and I might be a bit biased as being a huge fan, but I'm the kind of fan that nitpicks unless there's good reason given (for example, in #2, we didn't see the whole fight, so Kraven could have had advanced weaponry, ETC), so let me just say: THERE WAS NOTHING BAD HERE. It was flawless.
THE OVERVIEW
Buy this book and don't ever stop, because things can only get better from here.
5/5
