Written by: Adam Glass & Mike Benson Artist: Laurence Campbell Features: Deadpool, Cable, Stryfe & Outlaw What if Wade Wilson lived in the Marvel Universe during the days of J. Edgar Hoover & Joseph McCarthy? This pulp tale answers all of your questions! This trade recollects Deadpool Pulp issues #1-4. In the 1950s, Cold War are running wild and looming threats of nuclear war with Russia are starting to take hold in the United States. This story takes a look at a soldier named Wade Wilson who's hired by the CIA to track down a rogue agent that's stolen one of the nuclear footballs. This story involves several characters from Deadpool's history that take on quite different roles in this series. Stryfe and Cable are both generals working for the United States and Outlaw is the rogue agent hired to steal the nuclear command codes. It's up to Wade Wilson to put a stop to her and prevent World War Three. The Good:The pulp/noir style art is outstanding and a big favorite of mine. It's gritty, dark and goes with the story perfectly. The covers for each issue by Jae Lee are as visually appealing as it gets. (He's also the current cover artist for Wolverine) Glass & Benson do a fun job of depicting characters from Deadpool's normal continuity in different ways here. Stryfe, Cable and Outlaw are all used in different ways and fit well within the story. T he Bad:There's not a followup to the story! Final Grade: 7.5/10

I've only read a couple of the Marvel Noir/Pulp books but this one along with Daredevil Noir is pretty good.

I still need to read Suicide Kings. IMO it's definitely worth picking up as a TPB.
