Writer: Matt Fraction Artists: Stuart Immonen & Wade von Grawbadger Issue #5 of Marvel's big event has arrived and we're treated to a titanic struggle between Thor and the Worthyfied versions of Hulk & the Thing. We also see Captain America (Steve Rogers) meet Sin on the battlefield. In other developments, Tony Stark wants access to Odin's work shop to build weapons and he's sacrificed his sobriety to do so. The Good: There's plenty of action to go around in this one. We're treated to a massive fight between Thor and the Worthy due of Hulk & Thing. We also see the Avengers finally meet the Serpent on the battlefield. There definitely isn't a dull moment in this one. With that being said this issue is definitely without its flaws. The Bad: The characterization of some of the major players here left quite a bit to be desired. Moments and statements from Thor & Captain America in particular felt completely wrong and out of character. There were also a few moments in this one that felt like grasps for attention from the writer in this one. Score: All in all ,its a pretty decent issue action wise but there isn't a great deal of story advancement. I didn't like certain statements made by Cap or Thor at all. They felt wrong to me on many levels. 5.5/10

I definitely agree with your opinion here.
Plus, Franklin Richards is going to be the one man retcon machine before Fear Itself is even over.
Seriously....do you expect Marvel to continue with Washington DC, NYC, completely demolished, and the entire population of Paris dead?

Washington was annihilated and millions died during an extended Kang storyarc in Avengers v3.
Hardly anyone gave it a second thought in subsequent stories. So, I doubt you need Franklin to retcon that.

Lmao.
After the event is over all the writers will just pretend nothing happened with no explanation. I'm going to love it I can't wait.

They have people who clean up after, Damage Control.
.... though given the massive human loss... well, yeah.

Seriously....do you expect Marvel to continue with Washington DC, NYC, completely demolished, and the entire population of Paris dead? I actually don't think Franklin will be undoing all the damage. Odin might though, as it is easily within his power to do so, that is if he doesn't die. In the event that he does, then that might left up to some of the other players on the field, maybe even Thor if he gets amped to skyfather again. Although Franklin certainly has the power to undo recent events and probably beat the Serpent to boot. Just honestly with no where near the finesse with his powers to pull it off.

I have not even read issue 4 yet. I kind of lost interest in both Marvel and DC's events.

I definitely agree with the review, Jake. This was far from being the best issue of Fear Itself thus far, although there were some great things about it. I really can't wait to see how everything plays itself out in 6 and 7.
