A question for those who have read the books. Have they ever shown any infected animals in them?

Animals are immune. But that is not surprising because that is pretty much how it is in real life. A human does not get cat aids for example no matter how many times he/she has sex with it.

Everyone in the office needs to actually watch the show then and stop masturbating to Shane scenes.

Did Shane die early in the comics? Or is he still alive?

He died something like 11 issues into the series. He was a very short-lived character. Something like the third person from the group to die.

Well a lot of my friends [that watch the show] don't like him. I wonder if he'll be killed off because he is dead in the comics. Because I remember you saying that the kid they were looking for in alive in the most recent comic, but is now dead. I think if he goes out, it'll be a gruesome death. He could be kept for one of them characters that people want to see die all the time but just doesn't happen.

Yeah they are not following the comic series at all for the most part. There are a few things like Carl getting shot and Lori getting pregnant but otherwise, they have been doing their own thing almost from episode one. Sophia is alive at 92 issues. Shane died at around 11. Both were switched for the show as Sophia dying early and Shane getting at least into season 3.

I wonder if his reason(s) for getting the big guy eaten was for Carl or his own reasons?

Both in my opinion. I think Carl was the main issue but on the other hand, someone had to stay behind and Otis turned down Shane's request to leave him behind when Shane fell.

I think they show needs that type of character. The devil on Rick's shoulder.
