Good stuff. Do you know who did the coloring for most of these? A lot of them look like they were done by the same person, maybe someone he works with often.

I think it's him. It doesn't say on the ION covers that it involved other people.. And I have all of them.

Definitely some nice work. I have several of those Marvel books he did the covers for.

I'm saying some aspects of his drawing like faces and such need work. What's so hard to understand. The part that is so hard to understand is how you can be so critical of this work.

The part that is so hard to understand is how you can be so critical of this work. Because there are much better artists out there and the stuff I pointed out he does need to work on improving?

There are better artists out there (or artists that I prefer), and you can say that in reference to just about anyone.
This guy has his own style, as most artists do. It's no my favorite thing but it is by no means poor.

Who said anything about being poor? I'm just saying there's place for definite improvement.

If that's his style why would it need improvement?

If that's his style why would it need improvement? because in my opinion, having a "personal" style does not mean automatically you can't say there isn't any room for improvement in an artists work or that his style isn't inferior to another in some respects.

I agree that having a 'style' doesn't give someone the excuse that their work can be of poor quality, but I personally think it more so applies to situations where artists are actually bad and their work is bad, not with guys who are all around at least pretty good like Kalman. Now if Kalman's idk let's say proportions were bad, that is no longer a 'style,' but just shitty artwork.
For example: JRjr- Very noticeable 'style,' shitty artist Howard Chaykin- Very noticeable 'style,' shitty artist Mike Deodato- Very noticeable 'style,' good artist Jim Lee- Very noticeable 'style,' good artist
