I profess to being a casual fan of the tv series and have never read a comic until this one. But this was pretty good. Apparently a whole lot of stuff went down in Buffy Season 8 that alienated fans. This series picks right up after it and has Angel & Faith in one of Giles' safehouses in London.

I read in an interview that Whedon intended to go back to basis with this and Buffy's season 9. I'll take a look at them later on, but if anyone recomends it I may check it sooner. Did anyone read Season 8?

Quite a few fans I spoke with didn't like Season 8 due to Whedon going a little overboard with storylines/power levels.

Quite a few fans I spoke with didn't like Season 8 due to Whedon going a little overboard with storylines/power levels. Season 8 was bat-shit insane. As a fan who watched the show it was really hard to follow the comics with the way they took things. That said, Angel & Faith is a nice return to basics. Their chemistry is good, and the writing is solid. But you need to have read Season 8 in order to really follow the story. If you are willing to do that (or read a summary online) I'd say this is worth getting (I invested in the first two and a half story arcs and was not disappointed). It's hard to fully grasp the rules of the post-S8 Universe at times, but it gets easier with time.
