Not a fan of Liefeld, but I thought this was somewhat interesting regarding the Deadpool movie.

If you haven’t seen the ball of energy that is Rob Liefeld at a comic convention in recent years, you’re definitely missing out. And if you didn’t see him at the recent Amazing Arizona Comic Con, then you also missed out on some potentially telling Deadpool movie news. Luckily for most of us, Comic Book Therapy was there with video device in hand.
“They’ve got a great director on the movie, they’ve got a great script,” Liefeld said. “I may or may have not seen some sort of test of footage that would blow your mind if you saw it and go ‘Holy crap,’ and ‘That’s Deadpool in costume.’ Katana swords, guns, shooting people’s faces off and making me laugh. And I may or may not have seen something that looks just like that. And you’ve got what would amount to the first R-rated X-Men movie. Because that script is R-rated.” See the entire panel appearance below.
All of this jibes with what news of this project we’d heard before. First, Ryan Reynolds played a character named Wade Wilson in 2009′s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but the character barely resembled the one created by Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza. Then last year, producer Lauren Shuler Donner said the film would be R-rated and either be a reboot or openly mock his first appearance big-screen appearance. X-Men and X2 visual effects guru Tim Miller signed on to direct from a script by Zombieland and G.I Joe: Retaliation writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Liefeld’s claims sound like things are rolling along nicely.
