Marvel has just released a surprisingly lengthy clip from a fight between Thor and Iron Man (of which we have already seen brief shots in The Avengers' various trailers and tv spots).
It looks frikken sweet.

You just know people will be using this footage as ways to say Iron Man can role with the big guns. BS!

Holy cow I missed this thread. Whoops! Anyhow Iron Man with his power output x400 < Thor. He effectively couldn't do damage to Thor, Thor on the other hand was easily crushing his fingers through that armor. Pew

If you want the real battle. the way that fight went is the bare minimum result of what I'd accept in a Thor vs Iron fight and even then, I'd just consider that what Thor should demonstrate flexing his pinky.

I honestly think the fight scene depicts the actual characters pretty well to be honest. Thor's pretty much running off his "You dare challenge me the Mighty Thor!?" face when Iron Man headbutted him. Strength wise he's just tanking Iron Man's attacks with no effect on him and easily crushing his armor with his fingers and knocking him on his rear with a headbutt denting the skull. If he actually picked up Mjolnir and struck him with full force I'm not sure Iron Man could actually tank it.

I'm sorry but I disagree, Thor should be able to smash iron to an unrecongnizable mush pile with a simple backhanded pimp slap. That's what seperates gods from men in metal suits.

Also, it can be assumed Iron Man's armor runs on the same sort of energy in Mjolnir, if Thor was able to power him up. So does that mean Tony was able to make Asgardian energy in a cave with a box of scraps, and Ivan Vanko was able to make it in an underground shithole?

I'm sorry but I disagree, Thor should be able to smash iron to an unrecongnizable mush pile with a simple backhanded pimp slap. That's what seperates gods from men in metal suits. There isn't much to say he can't, even in this incarnation. Thor's doing in this fight what he does all the time in Avengers, pulling his punches. It's why instead of a field leveling lightning bolt from his own film he is just doing the tossing some divine lightning from his hammer likely to make Stark back down, not even on the same level when he stunned Loki. Thor's already established in this incarnation he can let out some divine reckoning. Hell, he essentially over power's IM's flight with a casually kick off the cliff and proceeds to effortlessly hold him down, tank anything he throws at him and even crush that armor with his finger tips. He's essentially man handling Iron Man, who is trying really hard to hurt Thor at 400% his power capacity as is. It's clear there trying to make Thor the obvious powerhouse of the three. Too big of an assumption to when it seems like Thor is just letting out some generic lighting from his hammer. There isn't much to say the suit couldn't absorb that kind of energy before either, given the explosion from the arc reactor recharged his battery, rather than super charging him. If anything it's lifted straight out of the comics, where Iron Man has channeled everything from the Power Cosmic to Thor's lightning bolts. Edit: Scratch that, Tony was at 475% capacity.
