I'm writing Iron Man the way I believe he should be written: As Marvel's Batman. 1. Iron Man's mini universe will be Los Angeles, California. 2. Iron Man will have a ironpit(his version of the batcave) 3. The ironpit will contain ALL of the suits he has ever used(in both canon and non canon issues) 4. He shall use said suits whenever the situation arises. 5. He shall have a rogue gallery(villains), BUT, it won't be like joker, or bane, or rhas al ghul, it'll be much more powerful villains with each villain having a unique power that tony solves with a unique suit(like he defeats magneto with a magnetic suit, defeats graviton with a gravokinesis suit, defeats hulk with a hulkbuster suit, etc.) How's that so far?

Anyway, the biggest issue with writing Iron Man as Batman is how willing are you to push it to converge the two characters. Beyond the tech and gadgets and all the fancy superficial stuff, the one thing Batman has that Iron Man doesn't is the incredible drive to wage his war on crime day after day after day. For Iron man, crime is something that happens only when it's brought to his attention. Unless it somehow involves his tech or a past mistake he needs to own up, he will not actively go hunting for it like Batman would. It's a difference in mentality which separates these two the most. If you really want to write Iron Man as a Batman-style avengers waging a war on crime, you need to give him a reason for it, because what he has now is not enough. This, of course, presuming you're taking that route. I don't mean to step on any toes, I just thought I'd make a few observations.

Wouldn't it be much less of a stretch to just write Batman with powered armor?
It seems like you're trying to change every aspect in Tony Stark, including his established personality in order to essentially make him Batman with Iron Man technology.

So, what if I just gave iron man a "iron cave?" And take out everything else?

Iron Man is more of a showboater, right? He would rather have the tallest skyscraper.

Sorry my reply was late, I've been up to my neck in end of semester course work.

I think he is just giving his opinion on how it might be seen by your readers. Unless your goal is to make a story about Batman making armor like Iron Man, you should probably ensure that their stories do not share so many similarities.
Making Iron Man street level is one thing. Making him street level for the same reasons Batman is street level and behave like Batman is another.

He has a ironcave 2. He has all of the suits he has ever used in the ironcave 3. He uses said suits when the situation calls for it(whenever hulk goes crazy, tony gets his hulkbuster suit, etc.)
