While we do have some threads with rules for the Respect Threads forums and the Battles forums, this one here are the general rules concerning the entirety of The Comics Ledger. We're a pretty laidback bunch, but for the benefit of everyone who posts here we need some guidelines to follow.
-No pornographic links or images of any kind whatsoever. This is a comic-book site, and while much of the industry has mature stories and themes, that doesn't mean we like to have our browsers flooded with nude folk. If it isn't safe for work, don't post it.
-No spam. Do you like spam? No? Then don't spam the site. It just clogs up the gears.
-No piracy links. While we do fully encourage the posting of scans for the purpose of showing off feats, that doesn't mean you get to post links to downloads of comics so you can read them for free. This is more than a moral dilemma-quite simply put, posting piracy links on this forum endangers the board to be shut down.
-No links to malicious codes (phishing, viruses, etc). This isn't cool at all. Nobody wants their computer to self-destruct because what they thought was a link to a story turned out to be a Russian hacker site that put a hundred different Trojans in their hard-drive.
-No posting of any member's contact information or personal information of any kind without their consent. This means no posting addresses, phone numbers, Facebook/social networking site pages, or photos unless they say it's okay. We want this to be a comfortable site for people to post on, and if they're worried that a picture of them is going to become the new big meme then they're not going to enjoy being here.
-No trolling or flaming other users. We really don't like this. There's a very fine line between heated arguments and flaming, and trolling is obvious. Use your discretion please.
You are not your post count, and you are not your knowledge of comics. There is always room for someone to err so if they do, please give them the benefit of the doubt and don't take it as a personal attack on your being.
The staff will do their best to make sure things run smoothly, but we're only human and we'll probably miss things from time to time. If you see an issue going unnoticed, don't hesitate to use the report to mod button or pm us, even if the issue is just moving a topic or locking a dupe thread.
The staff will be using their judgment with what is and is not considered a ban-able offense. Obviously if you post ten posts in a row full of bad links, we're not going to take kindly to it, but if you get riled up in a debate we're not going to crack down on the banhammer. We want folks to have fun here, so doso, just make sure that everybody is having a good time, okay?
That's all. Now go get posting!
