Want to step into Luke Cage's massive shoes and choose the next villain to join the T-Bolts? Well, Thunderbolts writer Jeff Parker is letting you do just that. It's always nice to see a writer listen to the fans, and he's really taking the message to heart. He said "Somehow we've gotten the idea that you readers have opinions on who would make a good Thunderbolt. Remember a villain you want back in the spotlight? Then hit me! We're planning out next year and 2011 could have a lot more of your favorite heavy in it." Marvel has provided a poll with 13 choices and a write-in option. It appears that Jeff himself will check out the results and take them into consideration. This move comes after Crossbones was booted from the team. The Captain America villain gained powers and proved he was too much of a risk, so Luke Cage and Steve Rogers told him to go celebrate his SWEET CHRISTMAS (sorry, couldn't resist) in a prison cell. As you probably could have guessed, the options are mostly B-D list villains, and many could certainly add an interesting dynamic to the team. Personally, I'm voting for Shocker. He's always been one of my favorite Spider-Man foes, and I believe he's more than deserving of some development. We've seen him get a few upgrades every now-and-then, but rarely have we seen him develop from the "I'm just in it for the cash!" mentality. To make matters worse, his latest appearances have been reduced to either "cliche hired thug" or, simply put, jobber. Shocker has proved he can step his game up numerous times, such as when he lead the Deadly Foes of Spider-Man and made a massive upgrade to his armor in Peter Parker: Spider-Man. Hell, the big man Nick Fury even once stated he'd be afraid to see what Shocker could do if he no longer held back and set his sights higher (Secret War). So, who are you guys going to vote for and why? Vote here: marvel.com/news/story/14891/choose_the_next_thunderbolt

Shocker all the way. Your reasoning basically coincides with mine, and, additionally, he also is a favourite from my childhood; therefore I would enjoy seeing him back to prominence.

It's funny we liked him in our childhood, since I recall him being rather pathetic in Spider-Man: TAS. *cue Venom humiliating him and Rhino at the same time*

During childhood, the appearance of a character is very important.
By rights, Venom should beat down Shocker, regardless. That was more of a low showing for Rhino, by comic book standards.

He looked awesome, plus all of my friends favored Wolverine and I hate following a crowd, hah. But, man, Gambit was HORRIFIC in the show. He'd normally get to throw 2-3 cards before getting owned or having someone else do the rest for him. And of course Venom would own Shocker, but the manner in which he did so was pretty demeaning, IIRC. And what's wrong with swinging Rhino around by his head, using only 1 hand?

I liked both Gambit, and Wolverine in X-Men TAS. I couldn't stand Cyke, but that was mostly because I liked Wolverine, Wolverine loved Jean, but Jean loved Cyclops. What a mess.Hey, Rhino is not heavier than Venom's maximum strength, so lifting him over his head with one hand is not far fetched. Knocking him out as easily as he did, is.

I just didn't like Cyclops in TAS because he was the definition of "boyscout who blindly follows orders and refuses to go against his own plan." Another reason I didn't like Wolverine was because I felt like the character was trying TOO hard to be the cliche "I'm an outsider and I'm a bad ass! I take orders from no one! Rawr!"
As for Rhino....Shhh.

Most of the time Cyclops falls under the same boyscout archetype in the comics, as well.
Wolverine kind of had moments to justify the lone-bad@ss trope so I did not mind nearly as much.
You forgot "ur face".

Certainly true, but unlike most, I've liked Cyclops from Messiah Complex-remotely current. I can't say just current, because I'm not even close to that. He certainly did have his moments, but maybe that's because he was the main character in every other damn episode. Such a camera whore. Also, I'd never simply forget "ur face," it was omitted because I just thought "shh" would suffice. Clearly, I was wrong. So now, I must follow up with the ultimate comeback. "You don't know what you're talking about. I have a PhD in comics and you're still in High School."

i too voted for Shocker as a side note,he is currently leading the poll That's because he rocks....and shocks. Sorry, couldn't help it. (bad joke continuity-wise, since that only spreads the false idea of Shocker using electric-based attacks.)

Eh, I'd hope everyone on this site would know Shocker's attacks are based on vibrations and not electricity.

I'm shocked at how bad that pun was.
I'm a bad person.
Might vote for Shocker, but then again I'm interested in what The Griffin will be like as a T-Bolt.
