Marvel's next big crossover event starting in April 2011 will be titled, "Fear Itself." It will be written by Matt Fraction (Invincible Iron Man, Thor), with pencils by Stuart Immonen (New Avengers). The storyline is said to focus on a secret that happened many decades ago, the god of fear, and fears that regular people of today as well as the heroes of Marvel Universe face. The prologue ( to be released in March 2011) to the Fear Itself event will be written by Ed Brubaker with pencils by Scott Eaton. This prologue will take place in WWII and will feature Captain America, Namor, and The Invaders. Tom Brevoort explained that: "Fear Itself will once again have meaningful ramifications for the Marvel Universe"'Fear Itself' is set to run for seven issues with multiple tie ins, similar to 'Civil War' and 'Secret Invasion'. Thankfully, since it's by Fraction, we now know this is going to be a big event where Iron Man won't be written as the worst thing in the face of the Earth since bubonic plague hit.
But yeah, I am more excited for this now.

The Cyclops pic has me pumped.
Hopefully it's actual foreshadowing rather than a red herring.

@olorin- I'm pretty pumped that Fraction will be writing this. After hearing him talk about it and seeing how excited he is about it, I am in turn, now pretty excited. Decoy Elite- Yeah, those teasers are really good. I'm not familiar with any X-Men goings ons, but I saw on another site a comment which suggested it may be symbolism, showing that Cyclops is becoming like Magneto in his views on mutants and humans. Again, I'm not familiar with it so Idk if that makes sense to you, but maybe it does. I'm not sure if the image is to be taken literally. @spidey- I like his art a lot too. He draws all of the New Avengers really well.

@spidey
Agreed. Spidey looks like a bobble head doll in that picture.
Art-wise, the best is Cap's IMO.
