You're talking about Araña right? Yeah, it's been quite enjoyable. I'm hoping it'll go far.

Yeah, I'm still not used to her being called Spider-Girl.

Ok, that confused me too. She became Spider-Girl after Grim Hunt didn't she?

I think her original look was cooler. Especially when Roger Cruz was drawing her.

Didn't Arachne give her the new costume after Grim Hunt?

I don't like what they did with these characters.Arachne has been getting the shaft for years..and then they make her Madame Web? Who gives a sh#t about Madame Web? Then they make Arana Spider-Girl? Why? They don't think people would pick up a comic of a character with a Spanish name? It's not like any female character was on Marvel's best seller list anyway....

Well, the Mayday Spider-Girl has always been a favorite among Marvel fans. It's actually the most successful female fronted book Marvel's put out to date. I'd call that a "best seller." So changing Araña to Spider-Girl and giving her her own series with that same name would seem like the best thing to do if they're trying to generate more interest, not to mention it's a spin off of Big Time, and as you can see in the Spidey thead over here, fans are absolutely loving that, so yeah what Marvel's doing does make sense.
As for Arachne, I assume they made her Madame Web for a reason later to be revealed. I mean, as you said, she's been getting "the shaft" for years. Maybe Marvel decided to put an end to that. Maybe. And it's quite obvious you, and fans like you, didn't care for the previous Web, that would explain her being killed.
Of course, I can't speak for the writers themselves, but what they're doing with the current Spider-Man mythos does make sense. I just hope it ends up being good and successful.
