Wasn't everything resolved in the first one? Does is really need to be remade? The first one was such an iconic action film. Again Sam Worthington will be doing another Arnie role.
Anyone else think this is crap news?

Um why is this in the DC thread?
And I liked Commando. It was purposely made to be ridiculous and it brought a lot of laughs.

A lot of my friends are not liking it already because they like Arnie.

A movie like this belongs in the 80s/90s...and should stay there.

Remaking Commando is just going too far. There's no point. Literally no point. There's no story to speak of in Commando. It consists of one plot point: bad guys kidnap his daughter. It's the plot of Mario Bros. but with guns and Arnold. There's name recognition I guess, sure, but how many people were such avid fans of Commando or know of it enough to rush out and see a remake?
Besides, that movie was full of cheesy eighties charm. No way that they could replicate that today. Usually I'm pretty lenient on remakes, like, hell, I wasn't mad when they said they were remaking Clash of The Titans because the SFX in that movie is obviously showing it's age and it could benefit from modern technology, but any SFX they bring to Commando won't change it or might even make it look worse.
Just dumb, really.
I really love Commando.

A movie like this belongs in the 80s/90s...and should stay there. Exactly. Besides, how could they possibly make an out of shape guy be as believable of a match for super soldier buff guy as they did in the 80s?
