There is one thing about Rogue that has always confused me a little (keep in mind I'm talking about classic Rogue, before she gained control over her powers). All the X-Men's costumes are made out of unstable molecules, which acts like a second skin to the wearer. When Johnny Storm sets himself on fire, his suit acts just like his skin and remains unharmed. When Sue Storm turns invisible, her suit disappears with her body. Reed Richards' suit stretches just as much as he does. So when classic Rogue wore unstable molecules, what kept her from absorbing other people if they touched her suit? Wouldn't it act just like her skin?

The generic answer, "It's a comic" probably applies here.
I'm not very knowledgeable on X-Men matters, so there may be a reason I'm not aware of, but that could just be one of the loopholes you found in comic book that don't really make any sense if you think too far into it.
Wish I could give you a better answer.

Wait, why would she wear unstable molecules in the first place? I get that all X-Men uniforms were like that, but why use unstable molecules when simple cloth can do the same job, if not better in this case?

I don't really recall her wearing such a suit. In fact in an old issue she absorbs Johnny's powers and after they wear off she's completely nude.
