Lol I was actually a tad upset at Rogers' resurrection, even though I am a Rogers fan.
Wasp... I was more than a little pissed. She finally did something that left an impact other than being the girl that Hank back-handed that one time. They finally do something that matters with her and decide to chuck it out the window and bring her back. For what? So she can continue being a nobody other than that girl that Hank back-handed that one time?

Dude, that's how marvel works. Any relevance is always erased.

It is why the Ultimate universe is growing on me. No one comes back to life. Wolverine? Dead. Magneto? Dead. Nearly everyone in Ultimatum? Still dead.
If they want someone to come back like Wasp, they have someone else throw the costume on.

Which is how it should be. Even if I've given up on Ultimate Marvel, props for actually having plot progression.
This is kind of thing just one reason why Top Cow rocks.

The only one who has come back so far is Ultimate Thor. I did forget about him but he is magical so eh.

The only one who has come back so far is Ultimate Thor. I did forget about him but he is magical so eh. Don't get me wrong, not all resurrections are automatically bad. What I mean is 99% of them are because they cheapen the value of death as well as ruining good stories. In the 1% where resurrection actually makes sense and is well done. It can be good. Sonatine in witchblade is a good example.

I too wish most characters who die would stay dead, and I mostly agree for the reasons you've already stated. We all know it is going to happen at some point, so we really just don't care anymore. Sometimes it seems that all it is, is a ploy to increase sales.
+1 for marketing professionals -1 for us readers
It is not always like that, but sometimes it seems that way. For example: Ultimate Spider-Man.
Btw, the 'Dead Avengers' from Chaos War all came back to life right? Does that include Mar-vell? Idk, I didn't read that tie in. Great example of bringing characters back for no reason, though. I'm sure they will be barely used, if it all going forward too.

I'll probably be a bit hypocritical, but at some point I do want Nova to come back to life. He is one of my three favorite characters and the MU just isn't the same without him. He's definitely one of their best characters, IMO. But at the same time, I want him to stay dead for a little while to take a well deserved break from the constant action he's had over the past 5 years. He also went out in one of the most bad ass ways, which stayed true to his characters as well. Thanks DnA for treating him right and doing such a great job over the years. Hopefully he can return with a new series that sells really well.

616 should have an Ultimatum and have a mass culling of all the characters that just do not matter. Writer favorites should of course be spared so they will not have to even worry about resurrecting them later.

If that happened, then they'd just come back again. The 616 universe is for pussies...

If that happened, then they'd just come back again. The 616 universe is for pussies... The 616 universe is for sales. Killing off main characters in 616 for a long time fiscally does not make sense most of the time I would imagine.
