Isn't most recent Wolverine a vampire?

Yes. If someone wants to make a case with vampire Wolverine that is fine. Once that little gimmick is over though, they will not be able to use that version anymore.

I don't know the difference, I haven't read any of that vampire material.

Wolverine with vampire powers. I am not sure if he is able to fly though.

Most recent Wolverine is
i) a vampire ii) a demon iii) possessing the Eye of Agamotto iv) sent to the past.
So, yeah, there's quite a lot to choose from.

That's the same old canuck we know and love, from Earth 616.
No, it's just the writers having a Hulk-type continuity split.

If Wolverine actually fights with his skills/training he should win. If Wolverine fights like an idiot(distinct possibility given it's Wolverine) then Kaine should come out on top.

Well I'm going to argue for classic Wolverine instead of the current crap sandwich.
I agree with Decoy. If he's written as a competent fighter who hasn't magically forgotten his fighting skills and training he should win the fight. If he's being written by any number of writers who treat him as a mindless retard, he'll get smacked around.

Ah friends but we must remember that Kaine has much better stats than Spider-Man and is much more hostile as well. Would this not contribute to better results than Spider-Man would get?

Yes, but Spider-Man would still have issues with retard Wolverine. Skilled Wolverine is a beast, who's actually smart enough to avoid attacks and such.

But if Wolverine uses his fighting skills I think he can pull through.

I would say Wolverine. With his ridiculous durability and skill he should prove a problem for Kaine.

Kaine does not have webbing, right? So the only way for him to beat Logan, it's if he snap his neck, IMO. Kaine is fast so he can dodge many hits and he is a lot stronger than Logan. But it's highly doubtful that he is strong enough to KO Logan, since he is not skilled enough to use his strength more effectively. So, unless Kaine will snap his neck, Wolverine eventually should be able to land the hit that is needed to win. So i'll say that it can go either way. =]

Agreed, but i would give to Logan a very small edge due to Kaine's speed. =]
