I always wanted to try, but I fear the results will be comparable to that of Gambit's in X-Men TAS.

@ K4tz - What's not to like?
And I doubt I'd cover 10 feet in a straight line

I snowboard and surf, on occasion. Skiing too, but that's more with girls I go out with since we're usually on equal levels, lol.

I have not seen snow since I was a kid... let alone get a chance to ski or snowboard in it... though I do like to Skateboard on occasion...

I lived in Colorado most of my life, and I used to go skiing in the Rockies at least a couple times every winter. I tried snowboarding once too.
Then I moved to motherflarking Texas. Don't even get me started on how much Texas bites.

And I doubt I'd cover 10 feet in a straight line It's really not as hard as some people make it look, Morph. It just takes practice to get good at it. Unless you're a little kid (which, frankly, I don't believe you are), you could probably catch on by yourself after a few sessions. My dad taught himself to ski when he was in high school.

During the winter, I used to ski at the Butternaut ski resort in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. After that, I gave up skiing, and I began to snowboard. I find snowboarding much more fun. It is easy to trip over yourself and fall with skiing. lol

I've been snowboarding about 10 years or so. I usually ride at Sierra-at-Tahoe here in NorCal.

Vice versa for me. Water skiing was fun, but of course it was the weekend after I saw 'Lake Placid' in theaters in the giant lake looked identical, hah.

I haven't skied in years (since tearing a cartilage in my knee courtesy of some stupid tourist skiing a slope they had no business being on and weren't good enough to ski - I skied around one when he fell over but couldn't turn fast enough to avoid the second when he fell in sympathy and rolled across my path). I've considered snow boarding in recent years, but my kids are only in that young play in the snow age (3 & 5). They toboggan etc, and naturally I want to be there to experience it all (that's what I get for starting a family in my 40's). Next year I plan to get them both skiing lessons (my 3yr old was chomping at the bit when we went for our regular (now) yearly snow holiday last month), and I'll get a new snow board. This year i stood on the kids "snow slider" (like a surf body board) and rode down a few slopes so I don't see teh change over being too hard (or the out of practice)
We usually go to the NSW snow fields ( Thredbo, Perrisher, Smiggins Hole, Mt Selwyn ). It's a two day drive (around 18 hours) from the Sunny Gold Coast in QLD.

I really love snowboarding, though I've only gone twice. It's a lot of fun. It was really tough at first - I would get up, speed about ten feet down the slope and then faceplant. By the time I got all the way down the intermediate hill, it had been an hour of me getting up, wiping out, brushing myself off and then doing it again. I took a break to get my breath back, my dad gave me a few pointers and I tried again. It took a few more hours but I could get down the hill at a comfortable pace without wiping out. The second time I went I could speed down the hill without wiping out, which felt great.
I love the feel of snowboarding. Once you get into the groove, it's almost like you don't even have to think to do it right - the moment you realize you need to do something, you just start doing it. Though it can be tiring (and painful - the last time I wiped out put me out of commission for the day, as I couldn't walk without limping for a few days), it's really relaxing, personally.
Though I can never get off the chairlift without bailing. It's almost like a running joke in my family.
I've only gone to a relatively small, local mountain in BC. I would love to go to Whistler, but it's a lot more expensive in comparison and a few hours drive so I can't really justify it.
