I'm from Glasgow , "murder capital of the world" ...yay Actually, Mexico is the murder capital of the World, especially now with the Narco-traficante war going on down there... Especially places like Juarez. What's organised crime like in Britain and specifically Scotland , I'm from Glasgow , Glasgow had long been regarded classified as the "Chicago" the U.K mostly because it was rife with gang activity and violence. In this regard Glasgow has a long and unfortunate history of gang violence having some associations and currents related to religious intolerance in the 1930s. Glasgow has over 170 recognized street gangs, some of which operate under the influence of larger U.K Syndicates. Most of these gangs are local and small, if very violent however. Common activities being petty teft, protection rackets and small time drug trade. The U.K itself has seen something of a structural shift as late. Traditional U.K native rackets have lost some ground to immigrant based organizations particularly Albanian and Russian based mobs who are not only very rich and powerful but extremely violent. Drug trade has also a rise with the arrival of Asiatic based gangs (mostly Pakistani and south-east asian based) as well as the Jamaican yardies that are said to operate drug trade out of 36 of the 43 police areas in England and Wales.

Oh maybe its murder capital of europe or former murder capital , i dunnno , i remember reading that someowhere You have a very good knowledge on Glasgow and its history , trust me that stat on street gangs must be true , when you've had a glass bottle smashed over your head by The Gringo on your way home from parkhead , it is not a fun experience Gangs here are ridiculous , i personally don't join any but i've seen good guys turn into bad people , the knife situation in Glagow is ridiculous , just last week after the Old Firm (Infamous football derby) I swear i turned a corner in Mount Florida to be greeted by at least 6 guys in Rangers tops 2 of whom weilding bats and another had a knife , a short chase ensued but it was still f***ing terrifying . Your right about the race thing too , The Catholic-Protestant sectarianism here is terrible , and the majority of it is to do with the Old firm rather than the religious views themselves , As an irish Catholic your met with a lot of fenian b****rd etc. How have you accumulated such a good knowledge on organised crime ? it's very impressive, you should be proud of it , but the name organised crime for gang wars in Glasgow isn't exact , in fact thats one of the worst things about it , its so unorganised you never know when you'll have to run from a gang or fight a couple etc. , there only young teenagers like me , its pretty sad.

Oh maybe its murder capital of europe or former murder capital , i dunnno , i remember reading that someowhere As a possible candidate for Western Europe's murder Capital, Glasgow is a very likely contender. Thought in Europe as a whole, many East European cities likely have similar or higher murder rates, especially former soviet nations, these gangs don't fuck around. You have a very good knowledge on Glasgow and its history , trust me that stat on street gangs must be true , when you've had a glass bottle smashed over your head by The Gringo on your way home from parkhead , it is not a fun experience my sympathies, one of my cousins was once assaulted like that, it was bad. Gangs here are ridiculous , i personally don't join any but i've seen good guys turn into bad people , the knife situation in Glagow is ridiculous , just last week after the Old Firm (Infamous football derby) I swear i turned a corner in Mount Florida to be greeted by at least 6 guys in Rangers tops 2 of whom weilding bats and another had a knife , a short chase ensued but it was still f***ing terrifying . Hope you got away unscathed. How have you accumulated such a good knowledge on organised crime ? it's very impressive, you should be proud of it lots of reading and personal research as part of my writing work (like for my novel series I'm writting). I'm also the main game master in my group of friends for our weekly table-top role-playing session and most of my games are set in modern times cities. I always research my settings carefully striving for as much accurate knowledge as possible so I don't talk out of my ass when relating real world topics. Plus organized crime is a really fascinating topic to learn about. but the name organised crime for gang wars in Glasgow isn't exact , in fact thats one of the worst things about it , its so unorganised you never know when you'll have to run from a gang or fight a couple etc. , Gang is likely a more precise term, true. But by organized crime I simply meant a group with a hierarchy that engages in criminal activity, not actually commenting on their level of sophistication, activity or power. there only young teenagers like me , its pretty sad. truely sad. Kids ruining their lives and they don't realize it.

@crom "As a possible candidate for Western Europe's murder Capital, Glasgow is a very likely contender. Thought in Europe as a whole, many East European cities likely have similar or higher murder rates, especially former soviet nations, these gangs don't fuck around." I Ddunno i remember reading that or seeing somewhere , i know eastern europeans are pretty crazy a lot of gypsies from eastern europe hang around some areas there pretty scary , usually hanging around in groups of large numbers and blocking of certain streets "my sympathies, one of my cousins was once assaulted like that, it was bad." I'm okay , sore at the time but came over on my shoulder so that lessened the blow and the tip hit the side of my head, but it was pretty damn sore , hope your cousins okay . "Hope you got away unscathed." Luckily i'm pretty fast , i had to fight one of them , but luckily the one of them who is fastest was one of the two that didn't have a weapon , but i could of outran him but if i kept running he'd know where i lived and that's not something i want. "lots of reading and personal research as part of my writing work (like for my novel series I'm writting). A novel series ? impressive , what are you writing it on also , if You could tell me the title i promise if i can i'll buy it read it and do a review on here Organised crime is interesting , i'd love to get a degree in crimnology and become a detective but thats one among other pursuits "Gang is likely a more precise term, true. But by organized crime I simply meant a group with a hierarchy that engages in criminal activity, not actually commenting on their level of sophistication, activity or power." Oh yeah i know , i wasn't complaining about the title merely stating how unorganised the gangs are "truely sad. Kids ruining their lives and they don't realize it" Yup , happens all the time

A few broken teeth and a broken arm, he also had a small concussion but he made a full recovery. Luckily. Good thing his friends were nearby to come to his aid thought, there were three assholes beating on him for no reason. My cousin is one of the nicest people I know. A novel series ? impressive , what are you writing it on also , if You could tell me the title i promise if i can i'll buy it read it and do a review on here thanks, thought I'm still working on the title. It's an urban fantasy series. deals with the occult and ancient mysteries intertwined with the harsh realities of the modern world. Organised crime is interesting , i'd love to get a degree in crimnology and become a detective but thats one among other pursuits Well , it's a noble goal to strive to. Yup , happens all the time too bad too.

That's a bad one :/ , same thing happened to my friend couple months ago , he got hit by one guy and fell then him and two others started kicking into him , me and my friend pulled them away and the guys couldn't fight at all , they only managed to beat my friend coz there was three of them , I've had similiar treatment about 6 months ago two guys both a couple years older burst my nose and lip and cracked ribs , wasn't as bad as your cousin though , i hate when fights happen and the other guys friends join in , its usually coz they can't fiht alone "thanks, thought I'm still working on the title. It's an urban fantasy series. deals with the occult and ancient mysteries intertwined with the harsh realities of the modern world." Sounds good im a massive Tolkien Fan , Lotr,The Hobbit, The book og Lost tales 1 and 2 , the silmalrion , the unfinished tales and tales from the perilous realm , love them all . I see you a writer ? or is this your first time at writig a novel series ? have you finished any of the novels yet or have you just got the plan for the series ? "Well , it's a noble goal to strive to. " Well yeah but i'm a physics guy , the top in my school but I'd still like to see other roots rather than sticking on the one my whole life. "too bad too."

I see you a writer ? or is this your first time at writig a novel series ? First time writing a novel series. The story will be set in the modern world with magic and the occult being a part of it, albeit a secret one. Thought in that regard I want to avoid all the bad representations that are too common in many urban fantasy series currently published. Well yeah but i'm a physics guy , the top in my school but I'd still like to see other roots rather than sticking on the one my whole life. Physics is a cool place to go

Sounds pretty interesting , how long you been writing ? And how long do you plan to finish for ? I've been writing for as long as I've known how. Been working on the novel series for about two years now, mostly because I keep starting over whenever I find something I don't like about what I created. I don't know how long it will take before I finished I'm taking my time to make it as solid as possible. Still in the research/creative phase.

Sounds good , doing the research behind your material is good , it'll pay off .
Good luck with your novel series .
What's the story ?

Well in a Nutshell, it's going to be a series, so more then one story, obviously. First part will follow two characters who are radically different at the same time. The first is about a relatively normal person who gets pulled in a world of occult conspiracies when she stumbles upon the world that exists just under the surface in the city she lives in. The other was born in such conspiracies, and what draws the first person in is just everyday business to him.
Plan on the story being very harsh towards idealism.
