Infinity Man at his most powerful can go toe to toe with a non-jobber Darkseid. I reckon he'd be able to take Captain Atom.

Any reason why Infinity Man would win?

Because he.....uh.........killed all the New Gods?

Any reason why Infinity Man would win? well... I would pose the possibility of Infinity Man using a combination of his Gravity Powers with his raw strength to overpower Captain Atom... or perhaps the Infinity Beams could effect Captain Atom to the point that he could gain the upper hand on him...

Because he.....uh.........killed all the New Gods? The Source gave him the ability to take the souls of the New Gods. He was essentially powered up for that purpose and nothing else. I don't think a plot device power is going to give him the win here (and that 'power up' didn't even help him against Superman).

I don't think gravity is going to do much. Atom can harness gravity (has done it at least twice) and has survived within a black hole. As far as raw strength, I'm pretty sure Atom is strong enough to contend, given his track record against numerous Class 100+ beings. What would the Infinity Beams do besides get absorbed?

well its not just gravity itself... its Infinity Man utilizing Gravity to enhance his already Superman level strength... now granted Captain Atom can manipulate Gravity... but can he nullify the power of someone who can do so also ? IDK
the Infinity Beams may have more of an effect of Captain Atom then just him absorbing them... I recall Infinity Man being able effect Mantis with his Infinity Beams... and Mantis has the ability to absorb Energy himself...

As for the Infinity Beams working on Mantis, they had an affect on him because Mantis has finite supply of energy within his body and he must recharge when it's expended. The affect was draining him of whatever energy he had left. Captain Atom holds a limitless amount of energy in his body due to the Quantum Field, so the Infinity Beams may not have that particular effect on him.

At the most, the blast would at least stagger Captain Atom and/or hurt him if he doesn't absorb it. But, I don't see it having an affect on Atom in the same manner it did against Mantis.

Infinity Man FOR THE WIN! Your answer on the Vine is completely different. Why? It seems more accurate if I choose Infinity Man, he seems to be more powerful in general. In other words, I changed my mind. 8)
