@strafe: Well I used to get bullied constantly as a kid (if you know my last name, you know why) before and after I learned how to fight. Swinging at them is not the first reaction to a frightened, untrained child fighter. It is to grab them, choke, throw, etc. You mistake confidence for adrenaline. Someone stopped further aggression against the fat kid so he had his window of opportunity to leave the fight and took it. I would bet you actual money that the kid got somewhere away from prying eyes and cried for what they made him do. You can read a lot about a person (especially this one) before the fight actually happens. These things happen in less than a few seconds as the video shows. You do not have time to come up with a safe and effective plan. You do what you can to get out of a spot that is causing you hurt. I would not have felt the least bit guilty if I paralyzed anyone that was bullying me. Ever. They put him in a situation where he was forced (yes he was forced) to defend himself. Since he is clearly untrained, he did what was instinctual, to use his strength. I will agree to disagree then. Having been in those situations, I know people have control over what they do, and therefore I expect them to act with some sense. Can't help it :/

He did have control over what he did in the sense that he could have just taken the beating like a bitch.
I believe that he did what was fully within his right to do, fight back and fight hard. I will guarantee you that kid did not even look at him sideways again, much less talk shit to him.

That is hard to deal with, or so I'm told. But, like I said, I will let it go.

I guess it depends on the person because I do not sympathize with you on that.
It is just like that guy who gunned down that mugger a few weeks ago. I believe he did what was fully in his right to do. Someone put his life at risk, he gunned them down and he was right to do so.

Not that I really want to debate it or even discuss it. I just don't like violence or hurting people physically. I've seen to much in my life for me to even enjoy a simple fight at school.

I never enjoy, nor do I seek it out fighting but I am also not a turn the other cheek kind of guy. Someone comes at me, I come back harder. I guess that makes me a stereotypical American Cowboy but that is how I see it. Actually, I think it would make a good discussion thread.

Whats sad is that other kids might start trying to defend themselves, but won't be so successful, and it could lead to them being killed or hurt severely.

Or maybe bullies will be deterred from every going near that kid again.. Maybe that kid, but they will find someone else. They always do.
