1-The Sorcerer's paradox keeping characters like Doctor Strange and Doctor Voodoo down. 2-Science based powers that can interfere with magic 3-Characters coming back to life because writers are to lazy to come up with new ones 4-characters turning into messiahs because of writer fanwank 5-catch-all character backstories used to justify anything 6-plot induced stupidity 7-writer induced stupidity 8-Lack of research taking away a story's credibility 9-Changes in character that make no sense 10-The status Quo being God

7-writer induced stupidity 8-Lack of research taking away a story's credibility Don't these two usually go hand-in-hand a lot?

Don't these two usually go hand-in-hand a lot? A lot, but in my opinion. Not all the time, a good example being when they use inspiration from myths and history and because they did it so poorly. The result is...mediocre. While Writer induced stupidity can come simply because so characters have a permanent idiot ball attached to them. Like spider-man.

I liked Penance Don't these two usually go hand-in-hand a lot? A lot, but in my opinion. Not all the time, a good example being when they use inspiration from myths and history and because they did it so poorly. The result is...mediocre. While Writer induced stupidity can come simply because so characters have a permanent idiot ball attached to them. Like spider-man. True.

Penance is cool but turning Speedball into him was fucking retarded. Penance would be much better if he were an original character, rather than Marvel screwing over a comedic character.

To be perfectly honest Penance's design makes no sense.I didn't like what they did to Speedball at all.

Maybe he has some sort of spatial awareness?

Maybe he does not see at all. Bumping into things would cause the suit to injure him, which would feed him power. Maybe that was the intention.

I don't like this new obsession with killing off underused characters.

I can't say I have a problem with character death. Even major ones. What I have a problem is with meaningless deaths for shock value.

@crom: That's what I'm talking about. It's like writers think that if a character isn't used often then they can just kill them off for no reason.

Decoy Elite elite. What pisses me off more is when major characters aren't given a death worthy of them. Witchblade, despite being my favorite american series is truly guilty of that crime.
