To be fair, unlike Barry, Aquaman does have reasons to bitch about his life (the importance of which I agree is wastly overrated), so there isn't really a point in retconing it. His arch nemesis though... Does anyone here get the point of Black Manta? I mean really, I'd rather they just stick with Ocean Master as the villain. At least he has character other than "Bat-shit homicidal maniac. Also Black." Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I think Black Manta, cool as he looks, has very little character motivation. Ocean Master is definately more interesting. Aquaman is totally not about bitching, though. Like his hand got bitten off and he was like "I'm not gonna hide it. I'm not going to complain about it. I'm going to wear this proudly as a symbol. Lookitmenow, bitches." |

Lookitmenow, bitches." He doesn't have to bitch, and I didn't mean that he should bitch. My point is that he has already had tragedy in his life, so there is no point in retconning more in. Unlike Barry. Again, not that I agree that you need tragedy to become a hero, but Geoff seems to think so. Again again, if he does take the bitching route, that will suck majorly. But hopefully, he can recognize Aquaman as being already awesome and NOT change his personality. |
