Bioware have released the much anticipated and final piece of downloadable content for Mass Effect 2. This final mission is said to fill the gap between the events of ME2's epic main story finale and the beginning of events in the yet to be released Mass Effect 3.
Mass Effect 2: Arrival's Launch Trailer
ME2: Arrival is slated to cost 560 MS points for 360, 560 BioWare for PC points or $6.99 on the PSN.

Nice, although I must wonder...How does (and ME3) this make any sense if the player had Shepard killed at the end of ME2?
Unless of course we just assume he was revived again...

I personally haven't seen that specific ending, but I've been informed that's one potential outcome for ME2. I try to avoid spoilers, but unfortunately I've seen/heard people say that numerous times.

@k4tz I believe if your Shepard dies at the end of ME2 you have to create a new character in ME3.

Shepard's kill count just went up by a few orders of magnitude.
Do we have a dedicated ME thread? this is all I could find.
