Deadline is reporting that Drew Pearce (who penned the now delayed Runaways movie for Marvel) has been hired to write Iron Man 3. The article goes on to say Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark with Shane Black in the director's chair. They have also stated that "...the plan is for him to start from scratch and work closely with Black. In case you are wondering who Drew Pearce is, which is a good question, his most popular work has probably been on the British TV series 'No Heroics,' which is about a bar hangout for super heroes who aren't allowed to use their powers while drinking. Iron Man 3 will be released by Disney on May 3, 2013.

Since we don't know much about him or his work I guess we'll just have to wait and see. FWIW I think Marvel Studios has done a great job with scripts and putting the right people in the right places in the 3 movies they've done so far.

I agree. Marvel Studios has a great track record so far. I'm sure they've made a good choice.
