Yeah, so I assume we all read comics, and I'm gonna go off on a limb an' say that every so often we visit the comic shop to, oddly enough, pick up new comics. Every so often, somethin' interesting'll happen, somethin' that you didn't see playin' out when you stepped inside, somethin' that made you laugh, blew your mind, whatever. Maybe you saw the Avengers fightin' off Kang the Conquerer, or maybe you saw Hulk get mad for "disagreeing" with the outcome of the latest story he was in. I dunno, you tell me. Tell us about your adventures to the comic shop, an' while you're at it, tell us what you picked up this week.

Thanks, when I made the thread, I had a "post the comics you got this week" but figured, nah, that's too easy. Either tell us a cool story that went along with it, or make one up.

I went to this comic book store in Calgary by the name of Phoenix comics and as I entered I walked past this beautiful girl. And I mean drop dead gorgeous. I asked the guy at the register if she was a regular and he said "no, she was probably just coming from the modeling studio upstairs." BEST STORE EVER.

There is a comic shop I used to go to called Night Flight Comics. This particular shop is run by a cruel and abrasive woman called Mimi Cruz, who only shows a glimmer of humanity to a select few customers she favors (not me).
I remember the very last day I went there, I tried to open the door to the store but it was locked. I was confused at first so I checked the store hours posted on the window and it was supposed to be open.
Then the cops pulled up and Mimi opened up the doors for them but I had to wait outside.
What had happened was a new customer had opened the bag to a comic on the shelf to check out the interior, to see if he had wanted to purchase it. This is something that she called the cops and locked the customer inside the store so he could not run away. Not even waiting to see if the kid wanted the damned comic.
Of course the customer was not arrested but calling the cops because a customer opened up a comic is by far the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen.

Some of the employees at the shop I go to are total dicks. There's a massive wall of new releases, so naturally everyone gathers directly in front of it. One or two employees always just push through and walk into people to put more issues up or go somewhere. They need to fucking add the phrase "Excuse me" to their vocabulary.
Sorry, general rudeness is annoys me. The worst? I'll hold the door for 3252345123 people, and then someone directly in front of me lets the door smash right into me. Flark you, random civilian!

I would probably let that fly one or two times but rudeness really pushes me into asshole mode. I can guarantee that I would call them on that after the first few times in a big way. With how often I am out riding my bicycle in Utah with these incompetent drivers, you develop asshole mode or you quit riding.

We don't really have a "comic shop", per se, but a hobby shop that sells all manner of nerd-related stuff that also may or may not hold comics (I dunno, I usually get all my stuff in trades okay?). I was going in there to pick up some packs of Magic: The Gathering cards for my brothers (they're big fans) when I saw some of the "popular" (read: cool) kids I knew (this was back when I was in highschool). I was like "what the hell?" and then I looked into the backroom to witness a huge group of the said kids all playing Magic: The Gathering games and trading cards with eachother, being extremely specific in their lingo of said game.
The conclusion I've come to is that every teenager in my town is either a nerd, a punk, or a bitch. It was really surreal.

I always feel bad when asked if i want a comic shop news while paying for the weekly comics every Wednesday. My best friend and I always joke afterwards because we NEVER read them. The girl working the register is so sweet and nice that its hard to shoot it down while having a friendly conversation. We just say yes to her and go on our way. So much for helping the enviorment. lol

Everytime I walk into my comic shop everyone does a double take. It really boosts my self confidence to see all the nerdy little guys melting. Guys are so funny, like when I'm checking out an issue they'll look over at me and then if I catch them they look away all fast. Sometimes one will muster up the balls to talk to me but they usually just stutter and go "umm... umm..." it's so adorable. There's a couple of cute guys who work there and they give me discounts too so that's always cool. Being a girl rocks.

Ive taken a friend before thats a girl with me and even I noticed heads were turning. You should feel special. lol
