What no talk about Rocky? That was the best part.
As a whole, I gotta agree. It was a bit of a let down. I didn't think it was that big of an issue for the Annihilators gettin' schooled though. Didn't particularly care for the explanation of it, but what I think DnA were trying to get across was, powerhouses don't always make a good team, which is true for the most part, but the way they explained it was sorta meh. As for Quasar, I could kinda see why he'd feel that way, but as you guys pointed out, all that really wasn't even hinted at in the events that came before. If they'd of laid the groundwork for that better, I think it wouldn't been better. Personally, I'd give the issue a 3. It did what a starter issue did, but not much more.
But on the real, that Rocky part. That was off the chain. Straight up 4, maybe even 4 and a half. Definitely the better half of the issue.

erik- Thanks. I got a new program which allows me to do a lot of things with it, at a much quality.
nexus- To be honest, I've been swamped with reading so I didn't even get a chance to go through it. I like Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and they are funny together, but maybe we can get around to it next time.
I see what you mean about what DnA were trying to do, but it was very poorly done IMO. Not because they got their ass kicked, but because they got their ass kicked because they acted completely different than they usually do. Same goes for Quasar and his feelings. DnA may have a bigger picture in mind here by the end of the series, so maybe that's what they are setting up for: making these characters more bad ass than they are now. Who knows, but we will see.

Fun to hear my name in the review. I wouldn't say Quasar's issues are resolved all that much, but we get less of his self doubt and more from the Annihilators, well, annihilating and generally acting the way we expect them to. I have a few more issues with # 2, but I'll wait for your review and we can discuss it there.
All in all, enjoyable review and I pretty much agree with all the points you guys put on the table.
PS 1 - Funnily enough, the Surfer has single-handedly defeated a guy whose main power is to cut space (another herald of Galactus named Red-Shift) so the Silver Jobber comment by ckal was spot-on since it expresses perfectly my thoughts about the way pretty much the whole crew was treated in the course of the issue. Thankfully, their competence almost skyrocketed in # 2, at least comparatively speaking.
PS - Kudos to K4tz for keeping a straight face as long as he did due to the sound in the background, I'm sure I couldn't have pulled it off.

Nexus, the art for the back-up story made me want to hurl We have no problem with the message being they can't work well together, but I, and I believe ckal as well, viewed the Ikon fight as lowering each individuals abilities, since they were 1v1s. Morph, well we spoke before recording this and you said his personality was better, so that's why I added fixed "a bit" Thank Shang Chi you agree with the rest. PS1- LOL. I assume you agree with everything I said before he made that remark then? AKA his first response to lunge is ridiculous. PS - LOL. I was struggling.

Yeah, I had skimmed #2 quickly, and what I saw looked much better. Looking forward to reading and reviewing it.
I actually wasn't aware Red Shift's power revolved around the ability to cut space, but I've only read a couple things with him in it. But yeah, that's just how I felt all issue, I thought I was reading the Jobbinators #1.
Lol I know, they'll be here doing work for a couple few more days. I was sitting there barely hearing my own words wondering whether or not k4tz could even hear me at all.

Really? The art was kinda on the same level as the main Annihilators thing to me. Fit the setting and character perfectly, but whatever.
Like I said, I'm not disagreein' that it was handled poorly, but I'm just sayin' it wasn't much of an issue with me.

@ K4tz - Yep, I am in full agreement about him trying to lunge the guy. The Surfer isn't one for physical attacks (least of all while on foot) so that was a classic "I got to do something asinine so that the enemy looks badass enough to pose a challenge".
@ ckal - Red Shift hasn't done much of that since his original appearance in Galactus the Devourer, but yes, that was the pitch of the character. Him and the Surfer had a full blown battle inside a black hole and Shift was even cutting/bending space around him to redirect/send the Surfer attacks back at him. It was a cool fight scene.

These things in comics are unfortunate. THAT. IS. AWESOME. Issue #?

@ ckal - Galactus the Devourer # 2. Photobucket has been glitching on me lately, but I have scans from their encounter and I'll try to upload them for you.

@ ckal - The art is pretty primitive by today's standards, but the fight was nice.
