This isn't really a battle, but I am going to come up with different situations between the two. 1)Who would be a better Green Lantern? 2)Who is better with the ladies? 3)Who is better at hiding who they really are? 4)Who has a better Origin story? 5)Who is you personal favorite? 1)Hal is the better lantern, when it comes to Bruce it's all hypothetical and thus we have no way to know. But in terms of sheer will Bruce has him beat, same goes for Bane.Hal can't comptete with them in that area. 2)Batman rapes him when it comes to women, it ain't just the quantity or the money,And did you mention Hal having a personality? .Better hope zoom does'nt see that. 3)Bruce 4)Bruce again, that moment with the bat/hyperadapter coming through his window makes mockery out of Jordan. 5)Bruce again,Hal was cool uptill SCW but then on he replaced Superman as DC's chosen one and became a flat character.

And out of all those instances they came out on top, so I don't see your point? It's doesn't matter during, but who stands in the end You don't know your Lanterns that well. In all of this, I am not saying has the most will, personally I think Either John or Kyle does, but there are so many other Lanterns who have experienced things Bruce never Will. John let an entire planet to exploded and he never completely lost it. Kyle found his girlfriend shoved in a fridge. All Lanterns fight in the cosmos. Bruce stays in a city. Yeah, two villains. Good picking. He may have but I'm curious. When has he ever saved the universe by himself? When has he been the "key?" [quote}Hal can't compare to Bruce, he's not even the best GL. You know I know that Hal isn't the best. He used to be but not anymore and I am more than happy to admit that. [/quote] villians are hot Speaking of Talia, she has a billion dollars in her Wastebasket(more than Hal can dream of btw)and she still likes him.She gave Damian an island for Christmas.Wish i had parents like that ;)or maybe not too much craziness. But i really like Carol Ferris for what it's worth.

This isn't really a battle, but I am going to come up with different situations between the two. 1)Who would be a better Green Lantern? Better as in who could wiled the ring better? Or who could would be the better Lantern in general?
I guess I'll just answer both. Bruce has more will power, more imagination and way more intelligence. All these imply he'd be the better Lantern and I believe he would also.Hal has Carol, Cowgirl, and Arisia. I can't think of anyone else. And I don't really see these, well maybe Carol would be a challenge, the others don't seem to be. But hasn't Hal knew her since kids, so that would be a easier transaction from friend to girlfriend.
Bruce, he's had many beautiful women. And many more that want him. Zatnna jumps out for me mainly because I find her to be "sex on legs". Anyone could pick Wonder Woman, however I rarely find her attractive. This could be due to the fact I don't really like reading her.I've never been a fan of the eye mask, I could tell someone from their hair and mouth. I don't like it on other heroes either. Bruce is in the lime light constantly, just as much as Batman. And yet not many people have figured out the link. This would lead me to believe that Bruce is better at hiding his identity. I like them both but in different ways. Looking at the origin story of Hal and looking at the Lantern mythos as a whole, his origin story seems improbable. Because the ring picks him while still on Abin's hand. While every other GL have to die before another is chosen.
Bruce's origin story made him who he is. And this effects him everyday of his life. I know Hal's origin story does, with him being a Lantern and all. But Abin's dying didn't do much to him. He didn't even know him. Just got his ring. Bruce's parents were killing in front of his eyes. Which made him choose his path. So I'd say Bruce has the better.Bruce by far. Hal isn't even in my top 10 Green Lanterns. Hell, I don't think he'd be in my top 50 favourite characters.

I think Dane is pretty much the only CV veteran that still enjoys Hal as a character, and not an archetype of a character.

And I know this has nothing to do with the topic, but I'll go ahead and agree with SM that Zatanna is hot as all hell. Which is weird, since I hadn't given much thought to that before, nor do I enjoy her character in general.

Haha, I never really doubted he likes Batman more, just that he genuinely likes Hal, as well.

I like Hal, though he is often written as a rockheaded moron. He showed the most spirit in Green Lantern: Rebirth and the start of John's run. Before all the ludicrous crap surrounding Blackest Night.
Batman will probably always be a much deeper character. When a Green Lantern is never to surrender to emotion, Hal Jordan is the perfect Lantern. He has no emotion. He has just never built up to anything. He's never been expanded on past 'my Dad died' or 'I like Carrol Ferris'. I can't even imagine him being in a relationship with Carrol. I imagine all of his kissing scenes with her playing out like a woman trying to make out with a cardboard cutout. They might bump their faces against each other clumsily but it's hard to imagine anything more than that. Hal's heroism is much more about his direct actions rather than how he came to perform them.
Putting him up against a character whose personality, plights and causes have been expanded over so strongly in virtually every story... Hal is in a losing battle.

I recently read Peter David's Young Justice, and in there Hal as Spectre showed infinitely more character per panel than he did in Johns' entire run. The problem is that Johns spends absolutely no time building his character.

I am with all of you guys. Hal's personality today sucks donkey butt, but I still am in love with what Hal embodies.
I think I am the only CV "vet" or who was on CV in general that really understands him to the point of being biased, yes, but I believe in everything that I type.
I just don't think Bats would be able to handle it. When he put the ring on the first time he couldn't bear it because he couldn't over come the demons inside of him. Would he make a good Lantern if written that way? Probably so. But I don't think he could handle some of the crap Hal went through and still be a Corpsman.

Well, I like the concept of Hal. I like the idea of a cocky young fighter pilot being introduced into an order of universal peacekeepers and I like that his only special ability is the willpower to plow through anything life can throw at him. But can't appreciate Hal as a character so long as they keep writing him as Captain Bland.

That is ridiculous. Morpheus said it was iconic, and it is. It's definitely unoriginal nowadays, but you have to understand this first happened over seventy years ago. It's not a cliche, it's a classic.
Sorry, just had to post in this thread.
