How are Jedi's in h2h? I am not a huge Star Wars buff, but I am trying to think of a great battle and I need to know if they can fight without their sabers.

I have seen jedi do a kick after parrying a saber attack.

So what if Darth Maul fought someone like Deathstroke with no Saber?

So what if Darth Maul fought someone like Deathstroke with no Saber? That may be close but only because of Maul's physical attributes, not hand to hand skill. To answer the question, Jedi are trained in unarmed combat, yes. Ahsoka was able to beat up Cad Bane, a noted bounty hunter, unarmed, and she is only a Padawan. Luke has fought a physically superhuman cyborg opponent without a weapon before, but this was more to demonstrate his growing skill in usage of Force Speed than his hand to hand prowess. They have far fewer showings in h2h than they do lightsaber combat; so they are trained but just are not shown in that regard very much.

Well also, the Force is a great tool. Not only to physically move objects but to manipulate energy and psychology. They also can be trained to deactivate droids so...any mechanical beings may be at risk of their powers.

And this is a gross underestimation of the various Force powers there are; defining its parameters in a few sentences is impossible. There are simply too many powers. Besides, the thread pertained to Jedi's martial skills, not Force potency.

I was just going down options, I wasn't factoring in commonality of the abilities. Also, a Jedi's hand-to-hand prowess is tied directly into their contact with the Force - factoring out the Force is essentially eliminating the Jedi aspect.

I was just going down options, I wasn't factoring in commonality of the abilities. Also, a Jedi's hand-to-hand prowess is tied directly into their contact with the Force - factoring out the Force is essentially eliminating the Jedi aspect. Then my remark is redirected toward why Ionize would be mentioned instead of a more commonplace power. Now, this is not to prey on meaningless semantics, just making a point on why that power in particular was listed. And if by that you mean that a Jedi would be more effective in a tactical situation with the full scope of their Force talents, this is obvious considering their physical amps, Precognition, Farseeing, TP, TK, and whatever other abilities they have at their disposal. But if your point was that they are somehow enfeebled by the removal of their Force powers and are rendered inert in a fight, this is not really true. They can fight with or without powers; they simply have to rely more heavily on combat skill. Also, as per the usual thread setup on this site, if a Jedi is a scenario where they are restricted to make a match more fair or just to restrain what powers they have to force them to operate on their natural skill level, then they will either be forced to use physically enhancing powers exclusively (such as Speed, Valor, Protection, Dark Rage, etc.) or their powers will be removed altogether. That aside, considering that the point of this thread was to call a Jedi's martial ability into question, their Force powers are irrelevant to the point. So, one way or another, it does not really matter what powers there are or what powers a given Jedi knows.
