Seriously? But the entire point of Planet of the Apes is that we don't know where the apes come from. Remove that and you're left with... Apes. I disagree... that was the point of the original movie... we all know.... if you remade the original no one would be surprised at the ending... Tim Burton already tried this... He even tried to make his own surprise ending... and it just turned out to be a big turd.. the female apes in his movie didn't even look as though they were a part of the same species as the male apes... that movie just sucked all together. for this movie they are going back to the original franchise and doing an origin story.. a lot of people keep comparing it to conquest and referring to it as a remake of that movie... it really isn't... conquest is an alternate time line.... this movie takes place in the original time line. I am a huge aps fan.. and am excited as hell for this movie

Well then it was already screwed up with the ending of the reboot movie so I do not really care about this. this has nothing to do with the Tim Burton piece of shit... it is prequel to the original... being as outdated as the original is.. it would probably be considered a bit of a reboot in its own respect.... but this is in relation to the original movies... not the reboot. in fact it was renamed from "rise of the apes" to "rise of the planet of the apes... to stay consistent with the naming of the original movies

It lacked of the compressed narrative of the first one, but it's pretty good. If they decide to continue doing ape movies I'll gladly follow them.
