This upcoming film is an origin story to the Planet of the Apes movie franchise, what do you guys think of it ? "An origin story set in present day San Francisco, where man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy."Below this first clip: New official trailer:

Seriously?
But the entire point of Planet of the Apes is that we don't know where the apes come from. Remove that and you're left with... Apes.

They already made this movie way back when, I've seen it. It's a time travel paradox in the original and its really not that good. This will suck.

The concept of a prequel to Planet of the Apes sounds cool. But that trailer just looks really really lame.

Is this going to be tied to the old franchise or the reboot?

I'd imagine the reboot, Erik.

Well then it was already screwed up with the ending of the reboot movie so I do not really care about this.

I still find it hard to comprehend how these apes could ever manage to take over the earth.

I still find it hard to comprehend how these apes could ever manage to take over the earth. According to the reboot, it would have been pretty simple. They are physically superior and the experiments made them at least on par with humans in intellect. That and the fact that humans basically created humans by simply traveling back in time. The apes could take over with relative ease since all they had to oppose them were a handful of scientists.

Either that makes sense in a way I don't understand, or I'm high.

Actually, I just read that this is an entirely new franchise reboot, not at all linked to the one from a few years back made by Tim Burton...
