Rather then, y'know, making a blanket statement, perhaps you could provide some more specific examples? Not to cause a scene, but just saying that it's a lie and then y'know, saying that what you're claiming is a fact is rather silly.

Kenneth Iron in Witchblade Rasputin in Hellboy Ahes in the merlin series St-George in Wisher The lord of Jackals in Niklos Koda etc. The motivations of marvel's villains are neither more complex or stronger.

Rasputin is the only name I recognize from a list, and even then, his main motivation was to bring about the apocalypse in a nutshell. He was an interesting villain, yes, but not overtly complex either. Marvel has some incredibly complex villains, two being on this list. Doom and Magneto both have intricate histories an reasonings behind doing what they do. Doom wishes to rule the world, and sure, while his attempts are horribly bloody in most cases, he truly believes he can bring about a utopia. Magneto experienced one of the most devastating genocides in modern history, and once he discovered his powers, decided to say screw it and that his people would never be persecuted again, and no one was going to get in his way. The Uncanny .1 issue went to great lengths to demonstrate that, and Magneto Testament was an amazing look at the life of the man before he became one of mutant kinds big bads.

I see you haven't read a lot of Hellboy because that is far from the core of what makes him more complex and certainly not his main or close to his priority as early as volume 2 Doom and Magneto both have intricate histories an reasonings behind doing what they do. I never disputed that they have had good stories. But those motivations and their histories are not more complex then any of those I've listed here nor the many more I can name. And I'll point out that this quote above only means they've been written well in some series and you like them. It actually does nothing to prove they are more complex.

Dude, I've read all of Hellboy's appearances. Most of his motivations aren't that complex, and as it turns out in the end, he's a bit of a tool. Especially when Hecate verbally bitch slapped him in Conqueror Worm.
Yeah... you keep saying that, but you're not really proving your point or providing any kind of counter evidence. You're just sitting here bashing a company off of what seems to be little to no information.

Yeah... you keep saying that, but you're not really proving your point or providing any kind of counter evidence. You're just sitting here bashing a company off of what seems to be little to no information. neither have all you've done is name stories you've liked. That is not evidence to them being more complex. Only shows that they can be written well.

OK let's talk about something more interesting. Did you vote, Lance? What do you think about this news?

Once again, how so? Because you're not providing any kind of counter-argument.
No, I explained their motivations and stories that illustrated that. For some reason you've missed that entirely in favor of some inane back and forth debate. Which is fine. You just aren't really debating at this point. So I'm going to stop.

OK let's talk about something more interesting. Did you vote, Lance? What do you think about this news? I voted Magneto. I'm interested in seeing what this new wave of villains has to offer, and whether it's new faces entirely, or old faces we haven't seen much of. The covers, as I said earlier, are absolutely orgasmic.

I wonder if the new villains will be villains to the old villain's hero? If that makes any sense to you. Ex: The new villain who is inspired by Bullsey will be a Daredevil villain.
Yeah, that art is something else.

I think that would work for some of the heroes at the moment. Daredevil or Captain America acquiring a new villain wouldn't hurt.

I admit I have a hard time seeing what villain would go after Loki.

In Erik's thread on Vengeance, it has 6 pictures of possible villains which may correlate to the villains here. Erik said he recognized one as a villain of the Young Avengers.
I do enjoy the art, I voted for Doom.

They NEED some new foes, lol. That I agree with, new villians are always win. Having the same guys break out of whatever prison they are in and staple themselves a new look can only happen so many times. =P
