I'll just copy what I said to Morph earlier: I never really liked Prometheus that much, to be honest. He was good in JLA because he wasn't too good. He keeps the League on the ropes for one issue, and then the sheer inertia of what he's done comes crashing down on top of him. Anything after that is completely worthless in my book, and CFJ was just the last straw. I especially liked how he couldn't counter Shade because he has no files on him, but when Shade tries to move one of his bombs, he finds that the bombs is designed to fucking counter Shade! LOLWUT? I agree with this. I think Prometheus is cool and was written well overall in his JLA appearances. He was just misused unceasingly after that. |

You know what's the funniest thing? Aside from the fact that he can take a beating from Donna Troy and live and his helmet can't block an arrow, of course. Or, God forbid, the guy who shoots people with superspeed can actually, you know, dodge the damn thing.
That Robinson said he had "long term plans" for him. Let me dig up my scans.

That's more of an artistic interpretation error than problem of the writing.

Apparently, killing off a villain paves the way for "a long lasting presence in the DCU, reaching far into the future in the JLA and many other books".
So, unless he's referring to the impact of his actions being so significant (since he does draw a comparison to Moriarty's value as a villain earlier on) there is just no way to justify that.

Maybe Prometheus is'nt dead? Barry noted that his stuff had vanished and Ollie had no clue(he was the last person to visit the Ghost zone),would'nt at all be suprised if we find out that the helmet suddenly grew legs and carried Prometheus to a Lazarus pit.

The thing about villains who have already been retconned to such an extent once, is that you can pull a "the greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was convincing the world that he didn't exist" thing. The problem with that? The possibility of Prometheus using a decoy/body double/optical illusion to fake his death and act unhindered in the future was not suggested in the comic itself. In fact, Ollie shoots him in the head, shouts "JUSTICE!" and the issue ends.

CFJ was stupid as a whole, not just in relation to Prometheus. I was bored from the start. Prometheus' PIS just made it worse.

I don't think it matters to the guys who run the show,if that were the case then books like Widening Gyre and Lost Days would never have been published. |

You know, given the amount of times CFJ has reputably been editorially re-written, I would figure whatever plans Robinson had the time, they have long since evaporated with the changes to the story. Let's not forget that CFJ was supposed to kick start a whole new JL title. Never happened.
