Zack Snyder, director of Superman: Man of Steel is scouting Antje Traue (Nobels Testament, Pandorum) to be a major villain alongside Machael Shannon. Speculation is that because Shannon is playing Zod, Traue will be playing Ursa, the right hand woman to Zod in the first two Superman movies.  What do you think Ledgers? Would she make a good Ursa or do you think she may be filling in the shoes of another villain? Discuss! The character is actually Faora from the comics. Ursa was the name given to the character in the first two Superman films.

I have no idea why they changed her name for the movies. If I remember right, her crimes against Krypton, while slightly different, were relatively the same in both pre-crisis and post crisis compared to the movies. Bloodlust.

You know, I don't know if this has been discussed before, and it has more to do with Ursa than Antje Traue, but why does Zod have to have an Ursa? Or Faora, or whomever. She adds nothing to the story apart from being Zod's booty call and having a female kryptonian around because yay equal rights! The only reason she and Non ever appear in comics is because they were in Superman II, and heavens forbid Zod be anything else than what he was in Superman II. (This is a big problem I have with Zod in general)
Personally, I'd rather have Zod with either no henchmen, or something like a professional kryptonian army squad with him, something that differentiates him from the previous versions and lets him stand on his own. She could still be Mercy Graves or something.

I love how Zack Snyder has said 'Man of Steel' will be nothing like the Donner films, yet the villains are the same from the first two Superman movies.

Zod has needs too Sovereign.
But I actually agree. Zod should be a stand alone villain. ALL kneel before Zod, not everyone except his lady.
Zod always struck me as a guy that favored power over girls anyway. If Ursa must be in the movie, I hope that she is not Zod's right hand gal. More like his right boot kisser.

Zod has needs too Sovereign. Let him bang a civilian like most soldiers.  Or give him a kryptonian hooker. That's be something. On a slight side note, I must say I've never heard of Antje Traue before. |
