Kaichou wa Maid-sama:
Now being the perv that I am, I was like "Oh show about tough school girl working at maid cafe, mmm!".
Misaki Ayuzawa is pretty much at the top of her academics in school, which was originally an all boys school up until recently. She worked her way up to Student Council President and has been trying to improve her school. Now it's also apparent that she has a no good father who left her and her family with a lot of debt, running. So what is poor Ayuzawa to do? She gets a job as a maid cafe. Your'll notice she is pretty ridiculously poor early in the series. So her quest to improve the school as she wants it, along with hiding she works at said maid cafe, leads to a bunch of adventures, from super rich people to fighting off the advances of the male protagonist, Takumi Usui, who happens to be aware of her little secret job.
Surpisingly lacking in any fanservice(perhaps recent anime surge have pretty much made smaller attempts at fanservice invisible to me), yet still being funny. It's good at challenging gender roles, which I'm not sure I could get into without spoilers, but hopefully it will make one things on what really is the norm. It also packing a hilarious and mysterious male protagonist who is sort of the tuxedo mask of the show, rescuing Ayuzawa from all sorts of trouble and making her fall rather hard for him(Usui). Although I do have to look at Usui and notice he is crazy possessive of this woman, but to be fair(spoiler alert) he's madly in love with her.
Fun stuff.
