You mean an extended theatrical release? Doubt it. I can't even remember the last film that did that. The last big film I can think of that actually released an extended edition DVD was Lord of the Rings. Harry Potter will be doing that. I believe once the final movie hits DVD/Blueray release.

I hope Thor has a huge opening weekend, but has good legs as well. Would like to see it break the $300 million domestic mark.

I hope Thor has a huge opening weekend, but has good legs as well. Would like to see it break the $300 million domestic mark. There were not many people in it when I saw it but I did go at a 2pm showing. Most people are in school or at work at that time.

Yeah. The midnight showing I went to had a lot of people, but not a sell out. But, there were three midnight showings for Thor so it makes sense (one 2D and two 3D).

I saw it in 2D. I want someone to tell me what it is like in 3D though. If it is worth it, I will check a 3D showing.

Some reviews say there isn't much added 3D effect to it, some reviews so it was good in 3D (maybe because it wasn't over the top with 3D). Not sure, I'm not a fan of 3D myself.

I really did like Loki's motivations. He originally wanted to keep Thor from being crowned king because he felt he was not worthy of it. I also liked how he admitted that he did not want it for himself, but took it to keep Thor out and even intended to have Odin back as king after Thor's death.

And he wanted to make Odin proud by attempting to destroy their life long enemies the frost giants and their realm jotunheim. One of the best and most well rounded villains and motivations for being the villain you will ever see in a comic book movie or probably any movie in general.

As far as villains go, this was a perfect 10. I wonder if his intention for the cosmic cube is to rewrite history to make Odin proud of him. Surely at the very least it will be used to take revenge out on Thor but I think he will want to use it to make Odin "love" him. Even though Odin clearly already does, Loki obviously does not see it.

He is blinded to it because of Odin's clear preference of Thor over him.

He is blinded to it because of Odin's clear preference of Thor over him. Yeah. That seems to be the way things are with those that will eventually be the heir.

Just saw Kenneth Branagh directed the film. Quite a cleaver move on Marvel's part.

JMS assisted with the writing. (or at least it was in the credits) Another good move.

I thought the movie was really good, but agree with others that it would have benefited from another 15-20 minutes or so. It seemed to go by so fast and Thor made the switch from arrogant to humble very quickly. I am hopeful for an extended or Director's Cut when it hits BluRay. I thought the fight scenes were well done and the special effects (especially Asgard) were great. All the costumes for the Asgardians looked really good as well and I thought Heimdall was just AWESOME. For me this is very easily a "Top-5" favorite Comic Book movie.

Still haven't gotten around to seeing this, but when I do, I expect to be blown away. Anyway, Marvel just upped this on their youtube page.

I just saw Thor again, and I loved it. It was awesome. The first time I saw it at the midnight screening I was just too tired. Thor was great. I also liked the 3D a lot, too.
