Yeah I'm watching it. Great show so far. I wouldnt expect any less from hbo. Sean bean is great as usual, as is the rest of the cast. I find Peter dinklage (sp?) to be a stand out (the dwarf). The preview for next weeks episode looks like the action is going to be ramping up. Only thing is I'm still a bit confused with some of the names and relationships of the previous kings and hands.

I'm going to read the books after the show ends, I've decided. Put all the pieces together. Apparently if you pay attention to the beginning credits, it shows parts of the history in pictograph form. Or something like that.

Yeah I would like to read them as well, I hear great things about it. Problem is even if I wanted to read them I might not have a lot of time.
Hbo already renewed it for a second season, which is awesome news. I wonder if they are planning on making a season for each book, or if they will make a season 2 on game of thrones.

Also the preview shows it looks like stark will no longer be the hand of the king...big stuff there

Why would I watch this when I can read the books which are soooo much better?

An episode in season 2 will be directed by, Neil Marshall. He created The Decent, Dog Soldiers, Doomsday and Centurion which had a Game of Thrones feel which came out before the series. And it had Michael Fassbender in and some kick arse female villain .

The creator of the books will be also writing that episode. George R. R. Martin.

I caught the first episode. I really didn't like how they cut out most of maester Cressen's scenes and character . I suppose it couldn't be helped seeing as how most of it is his inner monologue in the books, but still, that was one of my favorite parts in Clash of Kings.
