Have any of you guys ever thought about trading comics and such through here or CV? Too dangerous? Or a cool idea?

I've never thought of it and I wouldn't unless I could physicall hold/see the other comic. Only way to know you're not getting ripped off.
"First appearance of Wolverine? Awesome! Wait...Where's the cover and last 3 pages?"

Well, that's why I was thinking, especially here, everyone knows each other and are friends. I don't think anyone would do that. I hope, anyway....

I do not part with comics of books. Not even for ones that you want really bad and can't find?

Not even for ones that you want really bad and can't find? No because losing a book I have to get one I don't just means I'm still left with one book I don't have. I use money instead, throw enough at someone and there's not a comic you can't get.

What if you have a book that someone else wants that you could live without?

So every book you have is one you can't part with? What if you have a book that someone else wants that you could live without? Then if I like that person enough, I'll just go out and buy him the book then just give it to him. Then we both win, I have my own book and so does he. Plus a store gets money to keep itself running. Everyone wins.

You can't do that with every book. Like old trades that are hard to find. everything can be found or bought dude. Everything, you just need to toss enough money at the problem at the right people. I know a comic hunter I can hire to find rare comics, same for books. All it means is getting the money to pay the price. But what about purchasing from someone else on here. Not just trading. If it's worth it I might consider a purchase, so far none have really appeared.

Where do you find a "comic hunter."

Where do you find a "comic hunter." Best place to start is to ask your local comic book store. Especially if your store is willing to invest time and money into finding rare stuff. They usually have someone like that to do the searching for them, since obviously they have a business to run and while they will do some searching. A professional is always best. My brother found mine. He goes to see him in advance or gives him a call and before any transactions, a good comic hunter will warn you in advance how it will cost. Obviously you have to expect to be asked for a down payment in advance for his time. Though usually he won't ask for the full price up front unless he is an asshole (which incidentally means you shouldn't use him) as there is always a chance that something can't be reasonably found (by this I mean within a reasonable price range).

I would do it. I bought several comics from ebay and I never was disappointed with what I got. As long as the descriptions are thorough, I do not see how it is a problem.

A comic hunter? No thanks, I'll stick to the various online shops I use (mycomicshop.com is a great one)

A comic hunter? No thanks, I'll stick to the various online shops I use (mycomicshop.com is a great one) Yeah but those shops do not always carry the back issues I needed. For example, no comic shop had my Marvel Comics Presents for any reasonable price. I went on ebay and got the whole volume for roughly turns out to be 30 cents per issue. 175 issues total. Not a bad deal. Plus all the issues were in good condition.

That's a good find and I'd imagine it would be rare to find a bundle that cheap again. But besides, it's not like the site I use doesn't have those issues, and for cheaper than you'd find in a store (usually listed at $3 per) www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=184571

That is true. There are deals out there that are better than any comic shop.
I am just a cheap ass and as long as the comic is in good condition, I make no complaints. The likelihood that any of the kinds of comics I collect being worth something some day are nil so I look for deals.
