It seems to me that this Virgin Birth thing has a trend in various religions all across the world.
I like to expand my knowledge of gods, demigods, holy men who were the product of a Virgin Birth or Divine Inception .
Give a name and a quick synopsis of how your religious/Myth figure was born.

The Egyptian God Horus (Jesus) was born of the God Osiris (GOD) and his virgin mother. He was baptized in a river by Anup the Baptizer who was later beheaded (John the Baptist). Horus healed the sick and the blind and cast out demons. He also walked on water. He was raised from the dead after being crucified and 3 days later Horus was reborn the savior of all humanity.

Originally superman was not born via the sexual intercourse but was a genetic clone of his father and mother since physical contact was taboo in krypton prior to all the retcons iirc.. >_> not sure if that counts.

Could you provide some links (or debunk it yourself, since you know about mythologies). I've been hearing the Horus/Jesus thing for years. In looking up things that go against it, this is what I found. Was he accurate in his article?

Could you provide some links (or debunk it yourself, since you know about mythologies). I can do both First from personal data: 1)It's impossible for Horus to be a virgin birth here's how he was actually born: His mother is Isis (or in some versions Hathor). By the 25th BC, the myth had been formalized. When Osiris (his father) was murdered by Seth and hacked appart, Isis gathered Osiris's remains resurrected him and the only part she could not find was Osiris's junk. So what did Isis do? Now here where there's an essential tibbit to remember, Isis is the goddess of magic. She grew Osiris a new magical penis made of gold and mystical power as a replacement! Then they totally did it with Osiris's new magical golden junk. Then Isis got pregnant, hid in Nile delta and gave birth to Horus so Seth could never find him and kill him until Horus was an adult and a warrior so he could challenge Seth for the kingship. When Horus came of age, that's exactly what he did and won. 2) As a general counter, sex in Egyptian religion is a holy act, while virginity is not holy in itself. Therefore a virgin birth would hold far less meaning to them them a normal birth Here's a useful links proving this is incorrect: 1) There are multiple versions of Horus's origin, and in fact his relationship to other gods. His birth is nothing of what made him special beyond him being the son of a king: www.pantheon.org/articles/h/horus.htmlAnyway to give a brief summary why this is wrong: 1-His birth is nothing like Jesus's 2-His behavior, role and character are nothing alike beyond the barest fact that they are both kings 3-The origin, place and relation Horus has in his mythos is both nothing like Jesus's and has in fact multiple versions in facts. While Christ's in the new testament are concordant in basic facts. Simply there is no basis to saying Horus is Jesus any anthropologist worth his salt schooled in Egyptian religion and Christian religion will tell you. Really this unfounded belief some hold that Jesus and Horus are the same is just a big example of reconstructive, reimagined new age wishful thinking
