"It's not like we're giving him a new suit or anything like that," Waid said. "The biggest thing we're doing is playing up what it's like to be in Matt's head."
Wacker said that Waid once put it, "Matt has no fear at this point, because nothing else can happen to him."
"We wanted to give him a win every once in a while," Waid said.
Wacker said the book will have a bit of a location change. "When I look at Hell's Kitchen now, I say, 'Mission accomplished, Matt!'"
Wacker said that "all of New York City" will be a character in the book.
"Their friendship has gone through more than most friendships in the Marvel Universe, and probably will continue to," Waid said of Matt's relationship with Foggy Nelson.
Waid said that Foggy will suspect something's not quite right with Matt.
Waid added that Dakota North will be part of the mix, and there's a new assistant district attorney (that Wacker calls "ridiculously hot").
"I think we've played out ninjas and the Kingpin plenty for the time being," Waid said.
Villains that we don't normally see interact with Daredevil will be part of the mix, including Klaw. Waid said that Mole Man has been discussed.
Wacker said he likes the idea of Daredevil fighting Silver Surfer.
Will we see fallout between Foggy and Matt given what happened in Shadowland?
Waid said yes, but not in the way you might expect.
Waid continued, saying that Foggy and other characters will be worrying that Matt hasn't dealt properly with recent issues.
Status of Matt's license to practice law?
"Matt's going to find out that he has to take a whole new approach to his lawyering," Waid said.
Will Daredevil's role in New Avengers be reflected in the solo book? "We acknowledge the things that happen in the Avengers, but it's not a driving thing in the book," Wacker said.
"We have talked about other women in the Marvel Universe who are potential love interests out there," Waid said, adding that there is one out there that will "surprise everybody" but "made perfect sense."
Waid said that Wacker observed that "Spider-Man looks at Daredevil and sees the superhero he wants to grow up to be."
Waid said they wanted to see the characters from the larger Marvel U "on Matt's terms, not theirs."
