Writer: Jeff Parker Artist: Gabriel Hardman (Issues #25-29) Colorist: Elizabeth Breitweiser (Issues #25-29) World War Hulks is over and the Red Hulk (General Thunderbolt Ross) has been soundly defeated by the Incredible Hulk. Realizing a man of his military knowledge and power is a very powerful potential asset, Steve Rogers enlists his services. His services are needed to take down a series of back up plans formulated by the Leader & Modok in the eventuality that they were defeated. Their series of apocalyptic plans are referred to as Scorched Earth. Under the guidance of Steve Rogers and Bruce Banner himself, the Red Hulk goes on a globe trotting tour and even journeys into outer space to stop these doomsday scenarios. They range from comets striking the Earth, to monsters created by Klaw causing a gigantic volcanic eruption to a scientific firm in California that turns humans into lethal weapons. Along the way the Hulk teams up with and also tangles with Iron Man, Thor, Prince Namor, A-Bomb and the Incredible Hulk himself. It's a learning experience for him as he's not used to taking orders. Thoughts: Jeff Parker does a great job with this story. It's definitely a rehabilitation assignment for General Ross and his character in this story. Parker's handling of the character is superb as we basically see Ross go back to basics and work his way from the ground up. We also see the dreaded Loeb force addresed and Parker does a nice job in explaining this as well. He also leads us nicely into the next trade as we see a couple of potential new villains for the next arc. 8/10 The Scorched Earth arc is covered in issues 25-29. The final issue is a stand alone story and involves Red & Green Hulk taking down an old enemy of the Hulk. Great read and I'm really hyped for the next trade or picking up the individual issues. The art by Hardman and Breitweiser is beautiful. She's one of the best colorists in comics and doesn't disappoint here.

So the Thor/Rulk trilogy was completed, eh? Hopefully the fight went as the cover suggested it would.

Red Hulk is basically a punching bag in this arc. LMAO But it all fits in to what Parker is doing.

Yeah, Red Hulk during the Loeb run was a sad attempt at a joke, and if you sorta numbed your mind to everything you know in the world, you'd might accidentally find yourself laughing. Red Hulk with Jeff Parker is possibly one of Marvel's best comics coming out now. If you enjoyed this, you'll definitely enjoy the rest of it.
