Looks like writer Brian Wood (Northlanders) and artist Simon Coleby (Judge Dredd) will be creating a Lord of the Rings comic that will serve as a digital companion with the launch of the game coming out (Lord of the Rings: War in the North). It will be under DC comics and it will be in two parts. Looks like you are going to have to order the game from Toys R Us to get it though. SWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I love me some LotR. The books were always a little dry, but I think some comics about the world have a lot of potential.

As much as I'd love to see more stories in Tolkien's mythos... I really don't want other writers touching it.

Yeah I hear you phantom. Christopher Tolkein is fine by me though.

I have no problem with Christopher Tolkien, but this is at least in part because he's writing very little himself, instead simply collecting his fathers notes and unfinished stories. And even then, the difference is noticeable. Though in fairness I have yet to finish Children of Hurin so I can't judge it completely, but what I read so far I liked.
